Comments about White Sierra Convertible Trail Pants - Kids' - Special Buy:

Great pants---just as described. It has a cute mini compass (dark ribbon hanging from waistband in photo)---probably too small to be really usable, but fun to play with, I'm sure. Lots of pockets. I bought them for my son to use at summer camp (both nature day camp and Boy Scout resident camp) as well as for other Boy Scout camping trips.

However, the medium which is supposed to be size 10-12, is way too big for my son (admittedly just barely a size 10). The pants are both too wide and too long for the listed size. They fit my daughter who is size 14-16 and 5" 1' tall.

The price is great (especially since I used a % off coupon), so I'll probably just keep them for my son to grow into (since my daughter already has s few pairs of similar pants) and order another smaller pair.

Comments about White Sierra Convertible Trail Pants - Kids' - Special Buy:

I read the prior review and ordered my size 8 son who is 4'6", long legs, and weights 68 lbs a size small. Had I not read the other review I would have ordered a medium. They fit nicely, room to grow. I ordred my older son who is 5'4 125 lbs the XL. They are too big. He needs a large. Basically the XL is for someone who 5'6 or more and 140lbs plus. Maybe a small man.

Comments about White Sierra Convertible Trail Pants - Kids' - Special Buy:

If you buy these pants just a little long at the end of summer (and wear them as shorts), they'll be just right as pants for fall and spring, and then good again for shorts next summer. With growing boys, who wants to alter or buy clothes every time they grow another inch? The styling is dressy enough for our church, cool enough for school and versatile enough for all kinds of travel.

The only con is the fabric makes noise as the person walks.

Buy these pants in more than one color. They are a wardrobe staple!

Comments about White Sierra Convertible Trail Pants - Kids' - Special Buy:

I really wish they'd fix the sizing on these. I bought a kids large for me. I'm 5' 2" and 110-115ish. They fit a bit wierd. The legs are a bit too short and because of the hem they sort of flare out a bit. They are well enough made and the fabric is nice and they wash well. My kids want some but none of the sizes fit their skinny size 6 & 8 behinds!!! Major bummer. Kids zip offs are hard to find...

      Weird sizing

      By slinky2711

Comments about White Sierra Convertible Trail Pants - Kids' - Special Buy:

I got this in two different colors based on one of the other reviews. It was so weird, one fit just right, and the other was way too small. The tags were exact, the pants were identical except for color and size. Quite strange, felt like Goldilocks!

Purchased these for my 12 year-old, an "avid adventurer" who is about 5'2" and 90 pounds. They were both too short and extremely wide. However, the fabric seemed high quality, and they were nice and lightweight. These pants didn't work for us, but they would be good for a stockier child.

Comments about White Sierra Convertible Trail Pants - Kids' - Special Buy:

My son loves these so much that he asked if we could get him a couple of extras. He is so picky, so this is a strong endorsement for him. He says they are very comfortable.

These pants are versatile. My son wears them on campouts, canoe trips, and to school. That is a strong endorsement.

And they are an awesome deal.

Some reviewers said the sizing was wrong. Maybe the size charts have been adjusted, b/c they seem right on. Based on the measurements on the chart, my son should wear a size L. I ordered size L, and they were a perfect fit.

These should be advertised as 'Boys' pants, not 'Youth'. I ordered these for my tall, nearly 10 year old daughter, and the rise in the pants were obviously fitted for boys. My daughter prefers a tighter fit rather than being baggy in the rise.

Comments about White Sierra Convertible Trail Pants - Kids' - Special Buy:

These are great pants but the waist is much larger than is normal for the size, very loose fitting. My son is quite easy to fit in pretty much every brand of clothing I buy him, he's an average size kid, fit but not unusually thin, and these pants just hung off of him. The size M was too loose and a bit short, while the size L was falling off of him (we could have managed the length otherwise). They are nice fabric, etc., but are not true to size and I have already returned them.

Comments about White Sierra Convertible Trail Pants - Kids' - Special Buy:

These are the best pants we have ever purchased for our boys. They wear them all the time: school, hiking, camping, backpacking, casual dress. They don't snag when going through brush and hold up well. They do run big. My almost 10 yr old is on the tall side and wears a small. My 13 yr old wears a large. I am going to buy more for them for next year too. This is our 2nd summer with them and they have held up well. Great zip off to turn to shorts and water play. They dry quick!
