Comments about Ahnu Delta Water Shoes - Men's:
Loved them at first wearing around the house. Very comfy. Then I took them on a three day sea kayaking trip and they murdered my feet. Way too narrow fit left big blisters on the sides of my big toes. If you have wide feet beware these will hurt.

I bought these for use when kayaking/canoeing & will probably use for sailing as well. Read all 9 of the other reviews. Don't know anything about using these for running or as casual wear but as a water shoe they work really well. As for fit: one doesn't want the things to slip on & off too easily - they would fall off in mud or strong current. Stretch 'em on and then they feel wonderful. Grip well on even mossy rocks. Don't know what all the fuss was about with some other reviewers. These things are lighter then Teva sandles and work well as a water shoe.

Comments about Ahnu Delta Water Shoes - Men's:
The shoes are light, quick-drying, and have insoles which are easily removable. One detriment is that it traps sand in the insoles, but this can be really easily washed out. The shoes don't trap odors, so they're not all nasty after drying, even if they aren't washed out.

Was at local REI looking for something to blow my yearly dividend on...Looked at socks (Smartwools) but saw these next aisle.
Always looking for a better water-crossing-shoe to carry strapped on the outside of my pack and again later to use after long trail miles - drop the pack and go fishing (tried Keens - just do not work - Tevas - too heavy).
Planning 2 months of annual rambling/backpacking Yosemite backcountry soon...getting my gear on. As weight is a major issue - nice! Price was good too -
Also like the complete Toe box and the fact these do not allow pebbles to find their way under my arches. Usually in and out of water fishing and these will work nicely.
Initially a little hard to put on but gets easier quickly as they wear in.

Comments about Ahnu Delta Water Shoes - Men's:
I was excited to buy these prior to going up to the High Sierra's for a lot of water activity, fishing, boating, rock clambering etc. I ended up disappointed. They performed well in almost every way except they are lethal on the rocks. Totally slippery. Especially when water is present. I almost went down so many times in the creeks, purely because the soles have terrible traction. Also, I developed a brutal blister on top of my 4th toe, left foot from a stitched seam. You would think the interior of such a shoe would have nothing abrasive in that area. Other than that they are nice shoes and comfortable, but are hard to get on and off though. I will recommend them in general, but not for river work or walking on rocks and boulders where there is water.

I loved these shoes until I rinsed them after sailing and let them air dry. It takes several days for them to air-dry - so long that they start to smell awful. When I noticed this I re-washed them with scalding water and dish soap, but no luck. After 2 days they are still wet and smelling horrible again. I will try again and put them in the dryer. Or get new water shoes, which should be quick-drying by definition.

Comments about Ahnu Delta Water Shoes - Men's:
I bought these for wading creeks while backpacking. They are lightweight enough to justify carrying them. Crocs are great for camp but too loose for wading. These are snug and secure for wading, but uncomfortable in camp. The insole is not attached, so it folds in half and rolls out with your foot when you take them off wet. I didn't need the insole padding, so I removed these, further saving some weight. As for fit I can only comment that I'm female. I've never bought men's shoes for myself before so I have no basis for comparison. They're tight around the ankle and the instep which makes them hard to get on and off, especially when wet. But this fit is desirable when crossing a swift creek.

Comments about Ahnu Delta Water Shoes - Men's:
I bought this shoe as an alternative to other so-called barefoot running shoes. It was less expensive and it has performed well. It has the added advantage that it is designed to dry quickly.[...] I bought both 10 and 11 sizes. I use the 11 with socks and the 10 without. I recently went running in the Southwest and the shoe performed well. At one point I stepped on a cactus which punctured the fabric of the shoe. I was able to sew up the shoe.

Bought these for crossing rivers and ponds on the trail for which they served their purpose, but was really happy with the comfort they gave as camp shoes. Great for roaming around a Sierra Camp after a day of backpacking in heavy boots. Provided good foot support for hiking.

Comments about Ahnu Delta Water Shoes - Men's:
Purchased to begin a comparison of "almost-barefoot" running shoes. Initial impression was slimy, non-natural material. Did not fit with socks I wore to avoid the slimy feeling. Took the socks off and after a couple of runs, found the shoes fit well, were easy to take on and off and were extremely comfortable to jog in. Very close to feeling barefoot.
I've been wearing them for over 100 miles and there is virtually no wear on them.
A quick shampoo and dry by a fan and they seem as good as new.
I eventually tried them with socks again and they were very comfortable to wear around the office. I prefer with socks for casual wear and no socks for jogging.
