Comments about The North Face Arnuva 50 Boa Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
This is a great shoe. The BOA system is unbeatable. TNF Arnuva is only running shoe that fits me comfortably and doesnt leave me with heel problems or shin problems or knee problems or blisters. . . only lasts about 350 miles (Not bad i guess) . . . mine tends to wear on the inside heel quickly (doesn't really effect the quality of the shoe). I am on my second pair and already bought my third. Can't wait to get the Lymon color. Pretty cool. I recommend to anyone who has been having problems with "traditional" running shoes. Hopefully, TNF will not change these shoes for a long time.

Comments about The North Face Arnuva 50 Boa Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I got these after trying numerous other shoes including Brooks Cascadia, END Stumptown, Saucony Hurricane and Mizuno Wave Nirvana. My problem is that most of my runs tend to include both asphalt and trails. Road shoes don't do so well on the trails and trail shoes tend to be too bulky and dead feeling on the road. On top of that I'm running 50+ miles a week so shoes tend to wear out quickly.
The BOA lacing system is nice though I was skeptical of it at first. When I first tried the shoes on I couldn't get them snug enough around my forefoot. Then I read in an on-line forum that the laces can be adjusted using a couple of extra anchor points. That did the trick. The BOA system is nice because it doesn't loosen and when you're 20+ miles into an ultra and need to loosen your shoes to accommodate swelling all you do is reach down, pull the knob, and then twist a few times. Much quicker than untying and retying your laces, especially when it's cold out and you're wearing gloves.
The tread on the shoe provides plenty of traction on most dirt surfaces and unlike many trail shoes doesn't clog up with mud or small pebbles. On the road the shoe doesn't have the stiff, hiking boot feel of many trail runners. Cushioning isn't quite as plush and bouncy feeling as dedicated road trainers but it's also not harsh.

Comments about The North Face Arnuva 50 Boa Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
i am a boyscout that does a lot of long trips like things to alaska, new mexico, and other things. i got this shoe because i needed something lighter than my boots but heaveyer than a pair of running shoes. this is a great shoe for day trips or as a second pair for heavey packers on a backpacker. it wears quick depending on your usage only 2-4 one month trips using it every day or everyother day. the biggest advantage for me was it is comfertible and very true to size and can be found in almost any size i wear a 13.5 to 15 and the 14 fit great [...]. also ok for weekend yard work i do a lot of that.

I would like to correct my preview review. I gave the product 4 out of 5 stars because I had noted that the product wore quickly. Well, I have worn through my second pair and I would like to amend this comment.
I have been training for several Ultra distance races this spring and I have been wearing this shoe to train in. I used it throughout the winter and now into the warmer months of spring. This is my second pair. My first pair as noted below, was a 1/2 size too big. I bought the proper size this time, and now, after about 370 miles, they are just starting to become worn. They show no signs visibly of wear. I am a neutral runner who weighs about 140lb. I run on the road and on trails, but the majority of the miles on this shoe where on the road. I have just begun to notice that the cushioning may be a little slow to recover after each run and doesnt offer the return that it used too. However, I should still be able to get at least another 100 miles out of them.
I bought my current pair in mid January, and I ran between 60 and 75 miles/week in them since. I have just ordered my third pair and I just cant believe how great these shoes are! If you are an efficient runner who lands more on the midfoot or is not a heavy heel striker, and is someone who does not drag your feet when you run, and you log mega miles, these shoes hold up great. Bigger runners of course may find that the shoes wear out quicker, but for me, these are the only shoes that feel just as good after a 26 mile weekend run as they did when I put them on.

Comments about The North Face Arnuva 50 Boa Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I bought these shoes to trail for a 50 mile trail run, and because they were touted as being a great "all-purpose" shoe, i.e. trail and road. I was running in a pair of brooks cascadia 3's that were an 8.5. These fit perfectly for trail runs were you need a little extra room in the toe box so your toes dont hit the front of the shoe on gnarly descents. I bought the same size in TNF 50's. They feel way too big though. By the time a cinch them up, the shoes tongue is all but gone and the lace guides are practically touching. This however was something I found was an easy fix.
I found you could adjust the "laces" to add two more crosses and this combined with my thicker socks I wear in winter mad the shoe a great fit. After running in these shoes for several months and then going back to a regularly laced shoe I was very impressed with how well the BOA system felt compared to these normal laces. That feeling alone of a snug fit that has no pressure points, doesnt loosen over the course of a run, and despite all the mud and dirt that have encrusted the system and it still works, has sold me forever on the BOA concept.
The shoe itself is great for the efficient runner who is more of a midfoot striker. The traction is great and it is fantastic as both a trail shoe and road shoe. I log over 60 miles a week, half on road and half on trails and use this one shoe for both.
The only downside is that the sole does wear a bit quickly when used on the road all the time. However, it has not deterred me from just purchasing my second pair, albeit a 1/2 size smaller. If you want a shoe that holds up well to lots of abuse, you can use anywhere and keeps its firm stability and energy return as well as a nice balance with cushioning even over the course of 50 miles, this shoe works great, so dont pay attention to the price, they are well worth it, and they look cool too.

Comments about The North Face Arnuva 50 Boa Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I do a lot of Trail Running and I found these shoe are amazing for the trail. The BOA lacing system snugs down the shoe without creating a "hot spot" on the foot. The shoes feet light and responsive on the trail. They also have good protection from rocks and tree roots. Traction on these shoes is amazing. I love these shoe so much I went out and bought a pair for running on the road, because they felt so good on the trail. I would strongly recommend these shoes to anyone looking for a solid and comfortable trail running shoe.
