Comments about Salomon XT Wings Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
I do a lot of day hiking and trail running and my last pair of shoes finally met their day. I thought I'd end up in another pair of vasques and was surprised that I really liked the feel of the Salomons. I am pretty particular about my running shoes because of previous injuries. I like the stability and versatility that the salomons offer. I would totally recommend these to a friend!

Maybe the best trail running shoes I've ever had:
Light, stable, agile and very comfortable.
Sole under ball of foot could offer better cushioning
and protection from stone bruises.

Comments about Salomon XT Wings Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
This shoe offers great stability. It seems wider than the other compareable models. The heel cup holds my foot in place and is very comfortable. It is a great trail running shoe and works well just for casual wear. It is nice to see running shoes that have such great design. I did have some discomfort with the stitching of the stripes rubbing on my toe inside the shoe.

Comments about Salomon XT Wings Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
I picked up a pair at an REI garage sale and I'll never buy another kind of running shoe. They are easy to put on due to no laces whichmeans that you don't have to worry about them coming undone in the middle of your run or double knots that won't come undone. They are breathable so my feet don't get too over heated and another plus is that they clean easily.

Comments about Salomon XT Wings Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
I used this shoe to trail running on rugged/rocky terrain.
It's a great-looking shoe with a cool lacing system, but the toe box is too narrow and the arch is too high. These shoes were okay for short trail runs, but wearing them for longer runs resulted in painful blisters on my arches and very sore toes.
I'd recommend this shoe for someone with high arches and short toes.

Comments about Salomon XT Wings Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
The shoes are great looking, seems very stable, with great cushioning and I absolutely love the lacing system.
I felt pretty good in them in the first hour of wear around home. I have high instep and unfortunately the instep stitching on top of the foot becomes uncomfortable after having the shoes on for few hours (hot toes going numb from the pressure points). I tried another model from Solomon, XA Comp, and again the same instep pressure points.
I wish they would fit me; perhaps Solomon can design the sock tongue for higher instep feet in the next go. Good luck to you!

I like getting wide shoes for running, but these were comfortable in the std width. They felt stable on the rocky trails, but also were flexible enough to feel comfortable on the flats.
They also have more cushion and are more stable on the trails than the Salomon Comps.

Comments about Salomon XT Wings Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
Great shoe for day-hiking.
I originally bought these for a trip to Costa Rica during the rainy season, where they worked really well as an everyday shoe, but I've been using them since then for day hikes in the Sierras--trails are dusty/hot during summer, wet/cool during fall.
The shoes are waterproof, which means they consequently lack some breathability, but I've not noticed that my feet feel hot at all. I've used them in water, and my feet stayed completely dry. Very cool.
The shoes are supportive around my feet, with plenty of room in the toebox, and no blisters despite miles of hikes. I wear wigwam light hiking socks, with no problems at all.
I have narrow feet and very high arches, so I replaced the original insoles with Superfeet Green, but I think I'd have to replace the insoles of any shoes with Superfeet, so not a problem specific to a shoe but rather to my feet.
I like the lace system; it's easy and quick, and it holds well on the trail. The contagrip is effective on most trails, and I haven't experienced the bruised forefeet others have mentioned. I don't run in these, however, and the Superfeet may help with additional protection in that area if it's needed.
I'm really pleased with these shoes, and I would not hesitate to buy them again.
I'm considering buying mid-hiking shoes for longer hikes, and if I do, I'll look carefully at the Salomon mid-hiking shoe on the assumption that those will feel as good as these do. From the trailjournals I've read of the longer thru-hikers on the AT, JMT, TRT etc, however, I often read that mid-trail, they end up trading their full-on hiking boots for lighter trailrunners (and loving the change in weight), so it's not clear to me yet that I absolutely need to change from these to mid-hikers.
These shoes, however, were comfortable right out of the box, and they look really cool. People comment on them all the time (with compliments), and they're just great shoes.
REI people were helpful as always with this purchasing decision.
I highly recommend these shoes. I love 'em.

I love these shoes and would definitely buy another pair. They are durable enough to wear hiking, but comfortable enough to wear daily. The laces are great and you never have to worry about them untying.
