This jacket is extremely packable but the cut needs some updating. I wanted less room in the shoulders and arms, longer sleeves and a longer length. The fabric is very lightweight and I doubt it will offer sustained rain protection.

Just got back from 2 1/2 week safari in Botswana and South Africa. It is winter there now. I wore this jacket every single day over a fleece. It protected me from the wind as we were in open Land Rovers. It was quiet when I moved, unlike a lot of nylon windbreakers. I bought the sand color. Unfortunately, my jacket was taken out of my luggage ( it was on the top) at one of the airports on my way home so now I will buy another!!!

This is a great jacket with a true to size fit. Not a tight athletic cut. I like the sleeve length as most jacket sleeves are too long. I plan to use this jacket on hiking trips because of the lightweight. The material is very comfortable on the skin.
