      I have found these pants to provide excellent protection from the elements and a comfortable fit. They breath well and are not too warm for wearing in milder conditions. I wear these with my REI One jacket and I am impervious to the harshest winter storms here in Northern California. One great feature is that even at 6'6" they are long enough for me. Woo hoo. Another great Marmot product.

      I am 6'6" and ordered my standard rain pants size of XL-Tall. After I got these pants, I found that are labeled by the MFG as XL-Long (i.e., the pants have a longer inseam only). I checked the marmot[@] web site; they do not list any of their products as being "Tall". REI staff should learn the difference between "Tall" clothing verses standard clothing with a "Long" inseam and quit with the misleading advertising. I now have to return these pants at my expense due to the incorrect labeling of this product as "Tall".The long inseam is nice, but without the higher rise and proportional larger hip/waist size that tall people have, I can barely get them up over my blue jeans and closed at the waist.I thought about trying an exchange to what REI would (incorrectly) label as XXL-Tall, but the sizes stopped at XL.Hope this review helps those other Tall people out there before they order from REI[...]

      These pants made it through 5 separate trips but they have now failed me.

      They are easy on, easy off, comfortable, waterproof, and surprisingly breathable considering their waterproof qualities. My problem is with the drawstring stitching. Similar to my Marmot PreCip jacket waist drawstring, both pant-leg drawstrings have come undone from their stitching.

      While I could probably get along fine without the drawstrings (I don't think I've even used them) this is just too many instances to be ignored and I have to send them back due to poor quality.

      Too bad cause they sure performed well.

      I bought these to wear when riding my Vespa. I really like that they come in tall sizes. Perfect length! They also pack up nicely.

      For hiking, these pants would probably do the job just fine, but they are not quite adequate for heavy downpours when riding a motorcycle or scooter, as the wind drives the rain through the zippers. Also, the seat is not quite waterproof enough to keep out the water that tends to collect in motorcycle and scooter seats.

      Zipper tooth broke on first day I wore these pants. Safety pinned them together for the rest of the trip but hiking in light brush tore them in two locations around the cuff. I returned them after the trip.
