These Alpha Trac™ boots from Sorel feature an easy-in/out buckle system and provide warmth and protection for cold, snowy conditions.

Waterproof, seam-sealed suede leather and nylon uppers are triple-stitched to handcrafted waterproof rubber bottoms for long-lasting wear
Buckle lock system with gusset construction offers a custom fit; built-in gaiters with barrel locks keep snow out
Waterproof, breathable membrane is backed with synthetic mesh to manage internal moisture
Removable 9mm ThermoPlus Xtreme™ felt liners insulate to -60° F and dry quickly when taken out of the boots

Only a few winter hikes so far. Warm and comfortable. A little stiff still but should get better with use. I do like the buckle system. Think they would be good for snowmobiling. Will try them soon for winter paragliding. I'll update comments again after more use.

I absolutely LOVE these boots! Some other reviews complain about their fit/flexibility, but I think they are great. They were a little stiff right out of the box, but after wearing them a few times, they break-in nicely. They are a little on the heavy side, but I can easily overlook that because of how warm and dry they keep my feet. They are great for shoveling the driveway, or putzing around the house outside, and they also work well for sledding/tubing, or any other recreational fun. The removable liners are great too, and allow for the boots to really dry-out after a long time enjoying the winter weather!!

I got these boots offline last winter for a trip to Alaska to do snowshoeing and hiking with a friend. I am 6'7'' with size 14-15 feet (depending on the brand) and i got size 14 of these boots. They were a perfect fit and i have wide feet as well. They also fit my snowshoe bindings and snowboard bindings so i can go back country and fit comfortably in both. (i use flow style Bindings). First time using them was in -10 to -15 degree weather on a 4.5 mile snowshoe hike. Feet stayed very warm, Dry, and comfortable. They are tough and i feel very comfortable using them around the house. Only Cons, not the most stylish boots around (who cares really?) and they dont latch up too tight so dont expect a whole lot of ankle support. (not the greatest for groomed run snowboarding)On the weight side, these are deceptivly light! My buddies uncle who is born and raised in Alaska was very impressed with these boots and commented how light they were for their size.

I bought these for use in snow and wet conditions. Also as a boot to slip on after a day of hiking. The boot is warm, well lined and dry as promised. However, it is very stiff and uncomfortable, does not flex or have arch support.

I needed some warm boots for winter all round sports (snow shoe, sledding, general use) and i tried on the TNF Baltoro and a few others, but found them all a little narrow (i take a 10 and I was trying on 12s to see if i could get them comfortable).

These have a larger toe area and so were more comfortable for me. Having worn them snow shoeing in the sierra nevada I can say that they are warm, that you can snow shoe in them, and that they keep your feet dry. The only downside is the slight stormtrooper look.
