Comments about Sorel Cumberland Winter Boots - Women's:

These boots are amazing - I got them recently for recreational use in the snow, and they keep my feet very dry and warm. I have had a problem in the past finding boots that would lace up tight enough around my ankles, and these fit very well. They run about a half size bigger than you would expect, which is good for me, since I wear a women's 11. I haven't tried any long hikes, just snowshoeing (they fit inside showshoes snugly) and tromping through knee deep snow, where they have kept me dry and warm each time.

Comments about Sorel Cumberland Winter Boots - Women's:

I'm glad I read the previous review before purchasing, because these boots definitely run at least a half size large. I got the 7.5 and I usually wear an 8, and they are still "roomy" but I can also wear thicker socks with them. Comfortable through the foot and ankle/leg- the boot laces held nicely even under hard use. I sprayed water repellent on mine before using them as a precaution. Traction is good.Oh, and they're very warm! I am definitely happy with my purchase.

Comments about Sorel Cumberland Winter Boots - Women's:

Bought these for the weight and the features, not the look...but was pleasantly surprised by the color!! Living in an area of NYS that can have up to six months of winter, warmth, comfort, and weather-proof were essential. My husband and I walk nearly three miles each day, so I wanted something that would stand up to the test. These MORE than meet my expectations. Yesterday was spent trudging through a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain...not ONCE did I slip, have cold feet, or feel any kind of moisture seeping through. As previous reviewers have said, they do tend to run just a bit big. I often wear an 8.5, but went with the 8 and they fit perfectly. Lots of room in the toe box, no pinching or anything. The soft sided upper of the boot couldn't be more comfortable, particularly for walking. I can not recommend these boots more highly!!!

Comments about Sorel Cumberland Winter Boots - Women's:

These boots were a last minute purchase for use in NY state when the weather was 0 degrees. We went snow tubing and my feet were perfectly warm and comfortable. I just wish the boots were slip on or easy buckle instead of lace up. The laces DO hold well. Don't slip loose like many other types. They are serving well here in NC as well... lots of snow, sleet and rain this year.

Comments about Sorel Cumberland Winter Boots - Women's:

This is my first Winter in Chicago without a car, so I decided to take the plunge and buy some boots for those days when my Uggs just wouldn't cut it.

Today was the first day of snow/slush/ice and I wore my boots on my 2 block walk to the bus, up the stairs at the El, and the block walk to work (and back home). Not only did I step in ankle deep puddles and stay dry, I was able to run up the stairs to catch my train, and not slip on the slush/ice. These boots are amazing and I highly recommend them!

Comments about Sorel Cumberland Winter Boots - Women's:

I bought these boots prior to moving to Crested Butte, Colorado and quickly learned in the 15 degree weather that they were not warm! My toes are litterally freezing even though I have thick merino wool socks on. Also, the stitching between the rubber toe and the upper leaks allowing freezing water into my shoes where it soaks my already cold toes. Sorel will try and explain that they are "water resistant" not "waterproof." The whole "water resistant" feature is just dumb because if you are planning on wearing these in snow they WILL leak.

Comments about Sorel Cumberland Winter Boots - Women's:

The first time I wore these boots I was headed out elk hunting w/ my husband, there was 2+ feet of snow and it was -10; we hiked over 30 miles over the weekend and my feet stayed warm, dry and blister free (and I blister easily). For the price these boots were awesome on a lot of super steep and slick terrain. Since that weekend I've put another 50 or so miles of winter hiking on them and couldn't be happier.

Comments about Sorel Cumberland Winter Boots - Women's:

I bought this boot to use in the snow at work. One issue I had was I couldn't really get the boot tight enough. My foot would slide around (giving me blisters on long walks), and the smaller shoe size was too tight. also, when I wore the boot in snow, my toes would feel like they were about to freeze off. I actually took off my boots at that point and put on my water resistant keens and felt better. I ended up returning them. They are warm long as you don't walk in the snow.

Comments about Sorel Cumberland Winter Boots - Women's:

I got these three years ago and have really enjoyed them. When it's -10 out I can't even tell because my feet are so toasty. Something to remember is that you shouldn't wear these inside--bring shoes to change into once you get indoors otherwise your feet will sweat and will be difficult to keep warm once outside.

These boots really do run small. I usually wear a 9-9.5. I ordered both and am exchanging them for a size 10. That said, they are very comfortable (or will be with a larger size), and are a lot easier to walk in than my 30-year old Sorels!
