Comments about Vibram FiveFingers Classic Water Shoes - Women's:

I'm not going to repeat what the other reviews have already noted other than to say I completely agree with what they've written. In the past eleven months I've purchased three of their four models. I just kept on buying more models after I used the first pair for a few months and realized how fabulous they are and my uses for them expanded! I had painful heel spurs for almost 2 years, and despite all the research could not get rid of the pain. I happened to find these shoes in a wheat grass store in Hawaii and was told these shoes would help my foot. This didn't make sense since all the info on heel spurs said to pad your shoes, and Vibram are the opposite with practically no padding. I bought them and in 2-3 weeks my foot was 80% healed! 100% healed shortly there after. My dad saw my results and bought himself a pair. I wish I took picutures of his toes before and after pictures. His toes were slightly curled under because the muscles were atrophy. After 2 weeks of wearing the shoes his toes straightened out!! Unbelieveable!! When we wear regular shoes, our feet are not touching the ground because of the padding on our shoes. Because our feet are not touching the ground, our muscles in our feet and toes are not getting a work out, and eventually atrophy can occur (like any other muscle in your body that is not being used). Imagine if your hands had thick padding under our fingers that prevented us from grasping cups and other items, the muscles in our fingers wouldn't get worked out. That's what happens to our feet. Our muscles get weak as a result. Vibram will strengthen your muscles as it feels like you are walking barefoot. You will find the muscles in your feet and lower leg will get tired when you first wear these shoes as these muscles haven't been worked out as much. I live in Hawaii and have three of the four models [...]. They all have their pros and cons depending the climate you live in and what you are using it for. My last pair is insulated since I'm in Washington state for 3 months during the winter. I love all of them!! My whole family also has them now. The looks are goofy, but fortunately with my line of work and every day activities it doesn't really matter. I've traveled to the Big Island, Oahu, Washington state and Canada, and people are always coming up to me and asking me about my "cool" shoes. I can't say enough great things about these shoes. Very important to try these on for proper sizing. Also, keep in mind the sizing between the four different models may be different; for example, if you take size 38 in the "Classic" you may take size 39 in the "Flow" model shoe they carry. Lastly, as your feet become stronger, your toes may get slightly longer so you may go up a size as your feet get healthier and happier!! Yes, I can imagine people commenting on how expensive this can get, however, I rather focus on the blessing of having these fabulous shoes that are good for my feet. Life is beautiful!! Aloha!!

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers Classic Water Shoes - Women's:

This was my first pair of Vibram Five Fingers. I bought it over two years ago and they are still in great condition. I wear them everyday when I can. They've been on countless white water trips, and I've also used them in backpacking trips. The sole is still in great condition, and they aren't torn to shreds either. I have worn down atleast 2 other shoes with using them the same as this pair.

They may seem strange and feel strange the first week that you have them on, but after that they are perfect.

Only complaint is there is not much grip on the bottom (just like your feet, take a look) which is bad if you are climbing on rocks with mud.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers Classic Water Shoes - Women's:

I don't own the classics but I have tried them on, and I own a pair of the Sprints, KSO's and Flows. For those who don't know, the sprints are like these but have a velcro hook-loop closure that goes over the instep to prevent them from slipping off, The KSO's are completely covered with material up to the middle ankle to, like their name means, Keep Stuff Out. The Flows are covered like the KSOs, but are hardcore, made of neoprene (wetsuit material) so that they keep you warm in really cold weather.Like the other person here, I wear these as every day shoes. The reason why I say they're the only healthy shoes on the planet is because they are the only shoes I have found with ALL of these properties:* protects your foot from hazards such as sharp rocks, glass, needles, etc.* no heel (every shoe on the market has a heel, even converse all stars, etc. if you look at their inside, they have a raised heel)* no raised toes.* no arch supportAll of these so called "support" in shoes are bad. You may disagree but for the sake of explaining my above requirements in a shoe, I had to say at least that, and I have to say that this position is justified by the other reviewer who said he would think them uncomfortable but ended up being the most comfortable shoes ever worn.I said they are easy on/easy off. There is a period of getting used to putting them on, especially with the Flows, but once you/your foot get used to it, it's as easy as putting on any other shoe. Easier in fact since none of the models require tying laces. Also I have to say that I have taken my survival knife to the soles with about 3/5th of my strength, stabbing into the sole. Not only did I only feel pressure, but after I pulled the knife away the sole did not have ANY mark on it at all, yet they are EXTREMELY thin soles and you can feel everything just as if you were barefoot. There's a reason why shoemakers like Merril choose Vibram to make their soles. They definitely pass the strength test. They are somewhat pricey I suppose, although I've never considered them pricey, because I mean, people go out and pay $120 for Nike sneakers that rip in two days. These are expensive, but in this case you really do get what you pay for. Mine have been in the wash a lot and are still in near-perfect condition (if you wear them without the toe socks, they will need frequent washing). The only real downsides are the sizing problems and also the fact that unless you get the Flows, your feet WILL get soaked if you step in a puddle, because the material between your toes is not waterproof. The good thing is that the shoes dry superfast, and the Injinji toe socks wick away moisture and dry really quick. I've worn the KSO's in snow and my socks got wet and in two hours they were dry. The Flows have a higher water resistance and get warm real quick, so even if your feet get wet, your body temp will warm the shoes up.The sizing issue is a big problem. My KSO's and Flows are actually one size too big, because I bought them in the same size as my Sprints, and even though I tried them on in the store, they are one size too big. They fit fine, it's just.. you want them the perfect size. it helps especially with the Flows to keep your feet warm. This is where I say, REI.. please PLEASE consider including these in your stores !! :) and not just the classics.I will say DO NOT expect to be able to be as mobile with the Flows as you are with these (if you get them for cold weather).. Neoprene is not as mobile as the softer material in the other shoes and you sacrifice some maneuverability for the added warmth and water protection, but as I've found out this winter.. If the temp gets in the teens, it is definitely all about the Flows, with socks, at least in my experience, but I was just standing around. Perhaps if you're constantly running you will be ok without them :)The last caveat of these is that they are not quite attractive shoes...at all. This is the only reason why I'm even looking for another shoe that has the same criteria I stated above.. my SO keeps bugging me about how they're so ugly, and it's pretty iffy wearing them to a job interview.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers Classic Water Shoes - Women's:

I bought these for kayaking, but I have ended up wearing them as everyday shoes. I thought I'd have trouble because I work standing up a lot, on concrete floors. Well, they're the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. The excellent traction makes them perfect for driving, or for any activity where you have to lean, climb, push or pull heavy items - anything except walking up a gravel driveway. Not to mention the attention they get. Great conversation starters. I'm going to get another pair.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers Classic Water Shoes - Women's:

These shoes seem to be durable for lots of sport's activities. The price is a bit high-but we can see why. I first saw these shoes in a Boy's Life magazine for Scouting. And things listed in Boy's Life are honest and good, like a trustworthy scout. I am a Scout. They would be a good fit for my active lifestyle. I like the idea of a good barefoot shoe, that protects my kid feet........:)

She loves them! I was jealous because mine were on backorder. She said they are the most comfortable shoe she's ever had on. She thinks they are more comfortable than barefoot because you don't have to worry about stepping on the "nasty stuff."

This shoe is great. I have worn them walking, rafting, golfing, shopping, and many more places. They are so extremely comfortable! My only complaint is that my pinky toe has not gotten used to being separated from the other toes so it is a little uncomfortable. Also, I wish they didn't get wet inside the shoe so fast when walking on wet grass or ground. I wear a 9 womens, so I purchased a 41 and they fit perfect! I can't wait to break them in a little more.
