Comments about Gerber Torch Drop Point Knife:
This knife is AMAZING! it is fast to flick open and I can close it with one hand. there are barley any moving parts so it would be really hard to break. the grip wont let the knife ever slip out of your hank when its wet. the finger guard/ flicker is nice so i don't have to worry about cutting my finger.

Comments about Gerber Torch Drop Point Knife:
I love this knife. I got it thinking I would eventually use it for outdoor use, as it was on sale at the time. I use it for everything!
My knife spent 4 months in a chemistry research laboratory and held up extraordinarily well. There are a couple small, minor acid burns in the finish but the blade held up very well, and is still sharp though I haven't sharpened it after using it to cut adhesive for 4 months.
The grip is shaped to hold your fingers, which I like because it's the perfect size. I have somewhat large hands for a woman so I'm guessing it's comfortable for a large range of people of both sexes.
This being my first knife, I was previously only familiar with Spyderco knives, which have a very different release mechanism. It took me an hour to figure out how to close it! It's still stiff so I can't close the knife in a fluid motion, but it opens easily with the aid of the finger guard and nubs.
You definitely can't beat this knife for the price.

Comments about Gerber Torch Drop Point Knife:
good average knife, just like all Gerber brand knives. Fairly priced, great for somebody looking for an everyday knife yet still good enough to take with you while backpacking because of the light weight. If you use it correctly, wont break on you and stays sharp. mine was a liitle hard to open at first, but it got easy after i opened and closed it for a few minutes.

Comments about Gerber Torch Drop Point Knife:
Use this knife for everything. From around the house chores to skinning a deer. Durable blade, holds an edge well yet easy to sharpen. I don't like serrated knife edges because they are harder to sharpen, and this plain edge knife is as good as it gets. Get this knife and you won't be disappointed. Priced well too... it's a waste to spend too much money on a knife.

Comments about Gerber Torch Drop Point Knife:
I got this knife a few months ago for a smaller conceal-carry on public transit. I have a much larger, folding buck knife, and I needed something that was less obtrusive in my pocket.
Since then, this knife goes everywhere. To work. To rehearsals (I'm in 2 bands). I use to to eat with, to cut everything from pills to tape to boxes.
The action is great. Within a few hours, I was able to open the knife with a single finger.
The price-point is perfect. I feel like I am getting a quality blade, but not paying through the nose.
My only beef is that it can be a bear to clean, given the design.

Comments about Gerber Torch Drop Point Knife:
I liked this knife for the first two or three weeks I had it - wish it had had a serrated section, but I wouldn't knock it for not having a feature I knew it wouldn't have.
My real problem with the knife (and this may have been due to my flicking it open and closed) was that the center screw got a little loose and required tightening. Secondly, the blade hits one of the struts that holds the handle together, resulting in a round nick near the top of the blade. I returned this knife and went for the Gerber Big Rock instead.

Out of all the knives that I have used and/or own this is my absolute favorite knife the finger guard can be used to open the knife as if it were fast.I use this knofe everywhere camping, around my house literally everything and everywhere.

Comments about Gerber Torch Drop Point Knife:
This is my son's first knife. He used it to earn his Cub Scout Whittling Chip badge. The knife is constructed so that his finger (that is holding the knife's body while the blade is closing) is protected by a "safety". Simply put, it won't allow the blade to close while his finger is pushing on the blade unlock mechanism. It is probably inevitable that he'll cut himself at some point. But, it's nice to know that it won't be due to his inexperience with closing his knife. Now, if I can only get him not to lose it! I'm working on somewhere to engrave his name. We'll see...

Comments about Gerber Torch Drop Point Knife:
this knife is beast! as an active boyscout, i am very choosy about this sort of equipment, and when i went to glacier, i needed a knife that would last. this one surpassed my expectations. its all metal, but its super light and since there are only 2 moving parts, this knife will LAST. when i was backpacking, the super tough blade held its edge wonderfully (and through the next 7 days too, might i add)! all in all, this is the best single blade knife i've owned, regardless of the price.
