Comments about Cat Eye Strada Cadence Bike Computer:
I really don't have a bunch of experience with this unit, but I have no experience with bicycle computers in general. I wanted to start out on the low $$ side so I went with the most popular, least cost unit.
I have been nothing but impressed so far. I didn't have high expectations mainly because the last time I had a cycle computer it was horrible, inaccurate, and unreliable.
This one compared to my motorcycle GPS was pretty much dead on with speed, I figure everything else is going to be just as accurate as most are calculated with speed and time.
I haven't gotten to far into the functionality of the unit, but so far speed accuracy has been great, installation was very easy, and operation is mindless.

Comments about Cat Eye Strada Cadence Bike Computer:
This is only my third cyclocomputer owned. I used an old shimano for many years on my mtb until a crash smashed the lens. I replaced it with a reasonably priced db4lw wireless computer. Aside from the large size I like how it works and all the info displayed in two screen modes. When I recently acquired a road bike I decided wanted a low profile unit. The strada fit the bill and had the cadence feature to boot. Mileage readings are accurate and the cadence works well. What others say about the difficulty of installation is true. This was the first rear install for me and I botched it on the first attempt. Odd thing is mine came with an instruction manual written in every language but english! I returned to the lbs to let them know there was something missing but was told that's how they're packaged. I resorted to downloading the english version off the Strada website. I suggest using twist ties to position all the parts in the right places then when obsolutely certain of cable routing and the sensor positions are just right, go ahead and aplly the ties. Mounting the cadence magnet also posed a challenge on account of the crank spindle being aluminum. The recessed inside of the spindle made it impossible to attach the magnet with the tie. I lucked out the bolt head holding the pedal was metal. On the road switching between modes is accomplished by pressing on the 3 dots below the lcd screen. it works but I prefer having buttons for this function. The mph reading is large but the secondary readin at every screen is tiny and I got over 45 eye-sight syndrome now. A couple months later I'm still trying to figure out how to change settings. Extremely dissapointed with cat eye and will not buy their products again.

Comments about Cat Eye Strada Cadence Bike Computer:
If you're looking for a very simple computer to use both on the road and on an indoor trainer, this is the one! Easy installation, easy to read, user friendly. Rear wheel mount only so you can use it on a trainer as well. This computer has the essentials: speed, avg speed, distance, time, cadence and odometer. Used it for a couple hundred miles so far and the only other thing I wish it had was a HR monitor. Other than that, it's perfect.

Comments about Cat Eye Strada Cadence Bike Computer:
This is another incarnation of a great product. I've used Cateye w/ cadence for 15+ years, and this is also accurate and simple to use. Toughest part is installing the sensors and routing the wire (allow 1+ hr.), then it's pure enjoyment. Simple one-click toggle scrolls through all the modes. After calibration, two bikes w/ two different era Cateyes registered 0.01 mi different in 10+ miles (less than 1/1000 variation). A good price for the functionality provided.

Comments about Cat Eye Strada Cadence Bike Computer:
I received this computer free with a package deal. Had I paid for it I probably would have sent it back. I found the installation tough. They supply only just enough pull ties to do the job, which means if you break one you will have to buy more. I feel the magnets and sensors are just too weak. Even after I bought a Sigma magnet which allows a 20mm clearance to the sensor I still had issues. I've only used it indoors on a trainer which added to my frustration in its ability to lose its mounting position/magnet sensing. This is the fifth bike computer I've installed and by far the most difficult and aggravating. I would strongly recommend another brand, specifically Sigma which I've found to be the best/easiest so far. Once you get it working it does seem to work well. The only redeeming quality I would say is that for the price it is probably the only computer that you will get with a cadence sensor.

Comments about Cat Eye Strada Cadence Bike Computer:
I bought this computer about 4 months ago. Any cycling enthusiast should have a computer, and this one fits the bill pretty well. The price is decent, I've had no problems with it so far, and the cadence meter is a nice feature.

Comments about Cat Eye Strada Cadence Bike Computer:
Excellent design fits well on my handlebar stem; single tap scroll function makes a lot of sense when traveling at speed. Used this item to replace a far more expensive, and far more finicky, wireless device and have been very pleased. Only concern is with the durability of the wired sensors, as I have had a problem with other Cat-Eye wired sensors. For the price, and excellent, user friendly tool.

Comments about Cat Eye Strada Cadence Bike Computer:
This - like all Cateye computers - is high quality. It works well, and is trustworthy. However, having used both, I strongly recommend the Astrale 8 for a cadence computer. The single click on this model seems a little flimsy, and feels like it will break any moment. And if it does...completely useless! The Astrale is the same price, same features, just a different design. I think it has a smaller screen (my 3-year-old model did). But again, you can't go wrong with Cateye.

Comments about Cat Eye Strada Cadence Bike Computer:
Installation of this model went smooth. Not a lot of extra buttons to worry about having to push when you are riding. You actually push on the whole display to change modes, so you don't have to spend a lot of time looking at it.

Comments about Cat Eye Strada Cadence Bike Computer:
After 1500mi, cadence began working intermittently and soon failed to work altogether. The installing bike shop said it was a wiring problem which was not covered under warranty.
When speaking to the warranty department at Cateye, I was informed that the Cateye cable should be carefully wound around the brake cable to prevent breaking the Cateye cable when turning the handlebars nearly 180 degrees. I was also informed,"Even with a normal appearance, it may be that the cable could be broken internally."
My bike is set up for comfort with the handlebars somewhat high, so I can sit upright. The Cateye sensor cable is too short; it needs to be about 5 inches longer to reach the handlebar if routed along the brake cable.
I see no reason for Cateye to provide cable that is so short or so easily broken.
