Comments about Pacific Outdoor Equipment Si Pillow:
By far the best pillow out there. The main advantage is the height the pillow can fill to. I used to have to use all my clothes and even a rock to be able to sleep on my side. This pillow can inflate to 4 inches, saving my neck, for a good nights rest. I know its a comfort thing, but it makes the outdoors so much more enjoyable when you can sleep.

Comments about Pacific Outdoor Equipment Si Pillow:
I love this pillow! I have tried every single kind of camp pillow, I swear. I returned the compressible down: too flat. I gave the Thermarest foam bits one to my son, who loves it because he's four and his head doesn't weigh anything. Then I bought this one. I'm a side sleeper, but I don't need some giant pillow: I need something that's adjustable and doesn't compress once I get it where I want it. This one is perfect in that it can go anywhere from an inch to four inches, and stays there. I tuck it into the pillow bag inside my Big Agnes Rox Anne, and I'm good for the night.

Comments about Pacific Outdoor Equipment Si Pillow:
After trying several camp pillows I purchased the Pacific Outdoor Equipment Si Pillow. I am a side sleeper and always found other pillows to soft for this. I can adjust on the fly letting air in or out as needed to reach my comfort level. I also purchased the Therm-a-Rest Trekker Pillowcase that fits it just right, making it a perfect companion to this pillow. Together I have not had a better night sleeping while camping. I highly recommend this product.

Comments about Pacific Outdoor Equipment Si Pillow:
Camping for 5 nights using this pillow was great. It is padded as well as air adjustable so I could get the perfect height. Easy to clean. It will slip some due to the nylon cover but that was easy to stop.
Took advice from previous reviewer about it being good for side sleeping and it is true.

Comments about Pacific Outdoor Equipment Si Pillow:
This pillow strikes a good balance. Because is both padded and inflatable, it can be somewhat soft and still somewhat compressible for backpacking.
I sleep on my side and back. The pillow is great when I'm on my back. When I'm on my side, the pillow needs to be almost completely inflated to be thick enough. However, at this level of inflation the pillow gets a bit hard and my ear hurts after a couple hours of sleeping on my side. Switching to my back or other side periodically fixes the problem.
Also, because the pillow is inflatable, it can be compressed to fit in a pack. However, with its padding, the pillow weighs more than half a pound and is still about an inch thick when compressed, which makes it a bit bulky for packing.

Comments about Pacific Outdoor Equipment Si Pillow:
After reading other reviews and seeing the ratings I was very anxious to try this product. After receiving it, I can only say I was very disappointed. I am very careful about adding any weight to my pack and this pillow was to be the luxury item. I am a side sleeper and really wanted something with some substaintial height. This has the height, but only when fully inflated - read hard. I thought from the description the padding would soften it up. Not so. The padding is inside the air chamber, not outside so it has no effect at all. I immediately tried deflating it some it, which helped to distribute the pressure a bit more, but you still couldn't tell it was padded. Also, the air is contained all in one large chamber so it's a bit like a waterbed without baffles when you do let some air out. If you fully deflate it, sitting on the padding would be better than a cold, hard rock, but that's about it. It's headed for the trash without even one trip out. My search will continue.

Comments about Pacific Outdoor Equipment Si Pillow:
Prior to this, I never used a pillow while camping because I just couldn't justify packing the weight and bulk. But this little cushion has so many uses that I'll never camp without it.
I use it as a back and seat pad while kayaking, to cushion uncomfortable pressure points and adjust my height. I use it in camp as a sitting and kneeling pad-- so much better than kneeling on rocks while cooking and eating. And of course I use it as a pillow, and what a huge difference adequate head support makes. This pillow is pretty close to perfect for everything; I love that it's so adjustable for any level of cushioning you want. It's extremely durable and never leaks, which surprises me because I put all my weight on it for sitting and kneeling (I inflate it about halfway). At night I inflate it all the way, and it has never lost air.
For a pillow the size is perfect, but I do wish it was just a little bigger for use as a sit pad. It's much thicker and cushier than any sit pad out there. It's both a luxury item and a necessity for all of my kayaking and backpacking trips.

Comments about Pacific Outdoor Equipment Si Pillow:
This pillow works the best if you let it self inflate and then close the valve, I even found myself squeezing out a little air. If you like a big pillow then this probably isn't for you since blowing air into the pillow makes it into a rock.
The pillow worked well sleeping on my back and side during a week long canoe trip and was much better than my old stuff sack and clothing routine (never seemed to have enough extra clothing).

Comments about Pacific Outdoor Equipment Si Pillow:
I agree with a previous comment that this pillow can be a bit too hard if you blow additional air into it. When I just let the pillow inflate to its natural "fullness", it was both high enough for a side sleeper and soft enough to not hurt your ear. I do recommend getting a pillow case such as the Termarest Trekker pillow case as it helps the pillow not slide around on a sleep pad and provides a bit more softness.

Comments about Pacific Outdoor Equipment Si Pillow:
Too hard (multi-cell inflatibles and foam are much softer), but inflates to 2-3 times the thickness of multi-cell and foam, and is comfortable enough when placed under ground pad.
