Comments about Overland Equipment Boulder Vert Bag:
I commute to work by train and needed a medium-sized bag to carry my personal items in neat order. This bag has pockets and spaces for my iPod, phone, notepad, pens, gum, train pass, etc; the divided main compartment will carry a book, my lunch, umbrella, water bottle; and the exterior magazine pocket is great! The wide, padded strap makes it comfy to wear walking around town, and the water repellency is great in the rainy Portland environment - keeps my contents nice and dry. The only thing that would take this bag from 99% great to 100% awesome would be the implementation of an exterior slot pocket for a water bottle or umbrella. Otherwise, I love this bag, and have received several comments on its attractive appearance. I look forward to using this bag for a long, long time, and its sturdy construction looks to provide just that.

Comments about Overland Equipment Boulder Vert Bag:
Same thoughts as some of the other reviewers. I am a bag nerd...I have a bunch and always look at them in stores. This bag is perfect for toting your laptop back and forth to work. Ruggedly handsome on the outside, but soft and cuddly on the inside. Only complaint is the latch takes some getting used to, but this bag it is just the right size and very durable.

Comments about Overland Equipment Boulder Vert Bag:
Good looking masculine bag The waxed canvas is rugged but it does tend to pick up lint and pet hair. I am puzzled as to reports of latch failure as it is strongly attached by large rivets in each corner. I don't see how it could fail. My 13 inch laptop fits nicely inside and all the pockets come in very handy. I use this as a carry on bag and have no real complaints although it is a bit heavy..

Comments about Overland Equipment Boulder Vert Bag:
I wanted a bag that was big enough for office paperwork and my daily commute junk (cell phone, pda, sunglasses, ipod) but not as big as a traditional messenger/laptop bag. Most bags this size appear styled for women, so it was a challenge finding something with more rugged-appearing design (w/ apologies for the stereotype). This bag fits the bill.
I would change two things. 1. The shoulder pad is not nearly as comfortable as my Northface laptop bag -- it could stand to be more padded and non-slip 2. I wish the strap had freely rotating D rings so I wouldn't have to be so careful about how I toss it on my shoulder (it gets twisted easily).
Previous reviewers raise concern about the clasp. For what it's worth, although the clasp is a little unusual, I have had no problems with durability (I've owned mine for about a year).

Comments about Overland Equipment Boulder Vert Bag:
I typically carry one or two books with me in addition to my notebook/planner. I also carry a myriad of personal items in this bag and find it to be very roomy and rugged. The pockets and zippers are conveniently located and its easy to access and secure. Unfortunately, the clasp mechanism is a terrible design and apparently not well suited to daily use/abuse.I am very selective about the type and utility of the things I carry with me, and the decision to spend[$] on a bag took a bit of consideration and comparison. I eventually decided upon and purchased this one about 2 months ago, and have already exchanged it once because the front clasp broke off. I've had the replacement not even 2 weeks and two of the pop-rivets that hold the clasp on have already dropped off. I will be returning it yet again and probably selecting a different bag which is a shame because I really like the style and utility of this one.

Comments about Overland Equipment Boulder Vert Bag:
I like the look, durability and functionality. I bought it for a trip to Italy. In the first couple of days, the latch on front flap broke. Otherwise it was great while it lasted for touring and short side trips. REI was great about letting me return it.

Comments about Overland Equipment Boulder Vert Bag:
Good medium-sized car commuting bag. Holds what you need it to, assuming that's a smallish laptop, a few folders or binders and an article of clothing or two. Good internal organization, very solid construction. The shoulder pad is stiff and generally useless, but easy enough to remove.
That said, this bag's pretty heavy for its size. You're not going to want to walk any distance with this thing, or lug it on public transportation. Best if you're mainly carrying essentials from home to car to work and back.

Comments about Overland Equipment Boulder Vert Bag:
A great bag for commuting to work with small / medium size laptop and some reading material. I've also used it to carry essentials for my toddler on the weekend. Holds up well to winter weather in Norway. I quite like the latch as it feels secure when running to catch a train. There are many pockets within the bag to sort phone, pens, etc. I am very pleased with this casual bag and have gotten many compliments from colleagues at work. I get the feeling that I'm likely to wear out before this bag.

Awesome bag. Super quality. I should have this bag a long long time. Perfect for my commute to work and it doesn't look girly or metrosexual! Really rugged, not too big or too small. GET ONE!!
