Comments about Byer ParachuteTraveller Hammock:
Surprisingly comfortable. I have slept many weeks in Mayan-style cotton string hammocks during my visits to the Amazon jungle. The downside to those is that they are relatively heavy and bulky -- not appropriate for backpacking. I expected this nylon hammock to be uncomfortable, but was wrong. It is quite comfy, but is a little bit too small for my 6'2" frame. Let's be honest. Comparing this to a queen-size bed is ludicrous. But if you're backpacking and yearn to have SOMEPLACE to sit or lie down that's really comfortable, this is quite a nice addition to your pack. Note that it does not come with ropes to hang it with. You'll need to take that into account with regard to price and weight.
Here's a hint for those who complain about tangling ropes. It's counter-intuitive, but what you want to do when you are storing the hammock is to bundle the strings together and tie them in a one big, loose knot. A slipknot can work pretty well, but an overhand knot works just fine, too. In case it's not obvious, knot each end separately.

Comments about Byer ParachuteTraveller Hammock:
The product was great for the first week I used it. I set it up on my sunporch to sleep on at night. The first night a string snapped, but I mended it with a knot. Over the course of a week, it stretched out (I don't even completely understand what it's been doing) and last night I had to abandon it. It's not functional anymore. While it did work though, I slept great!

Comments about Byer ParachuteTraveller Hammock:
My son has Autism/Sensory Integration Disorder and we were searching for a Hammock that he could use in conjunction with his therapy swing. All the hammocks available were VERY expensive or were not the right type of material. This was low cost, easy to use, has its own storage bag that won't get lost, its got a high weight limit (240lbs according to the website but ours says 250lbs). A must have for anyone who needs a hammock swing for an autistic or sensory challenged child.

Comments about Byer ParachuteTraveller Hammock:
I love this hammock. I suffer from GURD, and the angle I sleep is the best. Almost want to return my tent, but haven't been in bad weather with the hammock. When I make a nylon fly cover, I'm set.

Comments about Byer ParachuteTraveller Hammock:
It is super-comfortable, the lightest thing I carry (lighter than my water bottle), and so easy to set up. I use caribbeaners and rope loops (tied around trees) to clip it up. It has a little pocket (the built-in carrying bag) to hold a flashlight. It has no rain fly, but it it SO comfortable. It is thin, so it is best for use in good, clear, dry weather... on a night when you can see the stars.

Comments about Byer ParachuteTraveller Hammock:
I bought this hammock as a second for friends, family, that accompanied me on outings. The multiple strings at the ends easily get out of sync with each other causing a twsting feeling when you lay down. The company was great when I sent the first one back. When the second hammock did the same thing, I decided not to go for a 3rd try. It does fine as an above ground storage place

I am a Boy Scout and my troop goes on backpack trips every month. This is an awesome hammock I go on a lot of car camping trips with it. It is great because it is comfortable and it is easy to set up. If it starts raining just leave it and it will dry out very quickly which is a nice feature.

Very light, easy to carry, and quick to set up. I've slept in it while camping, but also bring it with me whenever I go hiking - great for taking a nap or just hanging out. Be ready to buy more, because your kids will each want one! A great deal for a low-cost hammock.

Comments about Byer ParachuteTraveller Hammock:
This hammock had a good life with me. I used it often during my travels, it was easy to set up and very comfortable. Now, after 1 year of use, it is saggy and stretchy, and I am unable to use it. I am not a heavy person, and it had minimal contact with sunlight or rain, so I am saddened that it is so stretched out so soon. But, it's cheap, lightweight, and did its job.
