Comments about Komperdell Guide Staff with Camera Mount - '06 Closeout:
Very stable on difficult trails, lightened load on knees, and kept me from a couple stumbles on downhill portions. Compacts down nicely to fit inside my backpack when checked in on an airplane and easy to strap to the outside when on the road. Grip is non-hand specific which is good when one arm gets tired but then again, it doesn't fit as well as a molded grip.

I use this every time I go hiking, and it's my personal favorite way of relieving pressure off of your dominant leg.
Plus the Mono-pod does come in handy quite often.

Just got back from a backpacking trip with our scout troop. Took this trek pole with me. There were 10 of us, I had a 45 lbs pack and we walked in approx. 2.5 mile on a "Rough" trail at the Elk City Kansas State Park, spent the night, then trekked out in the morning. There were a lot of rocky trails up and down along lime stone shelves. Reminded me of Colorado. The poles impressed me. I was able to change the length easily depending on if we were ascending or descending. I really liked the cork ball on the top. I found myself placing it in my palm of my hand instead of gripping the handle as I would have to with other sticks. I originally bought it for my camera, but now am going to get a second for my other hand during these jaunts. Everyone else in the Troop also liked the pole, though I had to keep it away from the young scouts.
