Comments about Camp Chef Propane Campfire:

This is a great little campfire, especially when you are in areas where conventional campfires are prohibited. The only shortcomings I have found are the hose could be longer (I added an extension) to get it outside of the circle of folks around the fire. After a while (hours) the LP cylinder gets cold reducing the pressure and the flame can suffer a bit. If I am carrying two cylinders I swap to the second warm one and resume. Not a big deal. It's really nice to be able to turn on and shut off the fire at will. We carry the lava rocks in a separate bucket with a lid and leave the case for just the hoses and fire.

Comments about Camp Chef Propane Campfire:

I have to say that this product great. I still think it is a little too expensive, but combined with the REI annual 20% discount + dividends...I had to get it. So far it is fantastic. The quality is great. I LOVE that I can enjoy a fire in the backyard and smores with the kids at a moments notice...priceless. The lava rocks certainly enhance the fire. When it's time to go in, all I have to do is turn it off. Nothing beats a real campfire, but to me this is a great alternative.

The case could use a slight modification to accommodate the fuel valve.

I'm certainly please with the purchase. This will be a great addition to car camping with the family.

Comments about Camp Chef Propane Campfire:

add a small bag of lava rocks to improve on the look and heat distribution! i bought a bag of these lava rocks from a suggestion i saw at a sports show and the lava rocks make it even a better performer! This portable camp fire runs on the highest setting for about 20 hours on a 20 pound propane tank and puts out a lot of heat. since it is propane powered it is considered a stove and is a great substitution for a camp fire during fire restrictions where only camp stoves are allowed

Comments about Camp Chef Propane Campfire:

I was worried the flame would look like a propane grill with blue flames. It didnt as long as the lava rocks covered the burner holes. Worked excellent in telluride camp where wood fires were banned. Great in morning when you dont feel like making a fire, just light and enjoy!
