Comments about Novara Patch Kit - 2007:
Patching (like others on the internet have said) has become a lost art. Learning how to patch properly takes a bit of practice and knowledge (although I got it right on the first try). Spend some time online searching for how to properly patch, and you will be able to get a like-new tire! I've tried the Park Glueless GP-2, but they slowly leak (about 30psi/wk). This Novara patch kit has kept the pressure in my road bike at the same pressure for over a week--the tube works like new.
Note: Don't! use too much glue! Apply three thin layers on the patch, and one on the tube; spread on an area larger than the patch. Let each layer of glue mostly dry before adding another. When the glue is tacky and not notably wet, stick patch on tube, press together w/o moving the patch for 5 minutes--and wait, patiently, for a few hours before you peel off the plastic backing. If you did it right, the patch should stick firmly and should not have any orange edges folding up. [And a different note: I personally feel the sand paper is too rough, and swapped it with a piece from the GP-2 kit]

I get several punctures every month parakarting on grass. I have patched many tubes and unless you use quality patches and vulcanizing adhesive they won't last more than a couple of outings. This kit works very well, but you must follow the steps easily found on the internet.

Just need some patience for the rubber cement to dry and this patch kit works great for pin-sized holes and larger holes.

Comments about Novara Patch Kit - 2007:
Tire patches, and the skill to use them properly, are one of those dying arts. However, a properly patched tube will run for ages. A patch kit can save your cookies if you are miles from home and without a spare tube (like flat #2 in a long ride). This kit works well, has a variety of patch sizes (a plus), is small and light to carry. The only thing I would add is worded instructions (since most people don't seem to know how to patch anymore) and tire liner bits (to avoid a pinch flat after a puncture). I've supplemented my little kit with slivers of dollar bills to remedy item 2.

I'm not sure why anyone considers this a good product. I tried patching a bunch of tubes at home with this kit- not only is the glue highly toxic, but the patches don't stick! Glad I didn't have to find out the hard way (on the road) that this is an inferior product.

Comments about Novara Patch Kit - 2007:
There is A LOT of goathead thorns out here and I was constantly getting flats. Eventually, I got myself a pair of pre-loaded sealant tubes (Specialized Airlocks). My tubes will usually seal when punctured, but once in a while, I'll hit a really big thorn and it'll go flat. This patch kit works just fine and has saved me many times while out in the middle of nowhere.
