      I use my bike to get around the city, but mainly just in the summer. This helmet is incredibly comfortable and very well-ventilated, but a little after a year or so of use, the shell gradually got disconnected from the foam padding. The shell now works its way backward a bit while riding, and I have to pull it back down. I'm not sure how much that compromises safety. It's a shame, because it's still really comfortable. I think in the future, I'll be looking to buy a true helmet that's all one piece rather than a shell with foam, like most helmets.

      im 14 years old and i have to work for everything. a helmet is not cheap. but i had to by one if i wanted to bmx or mountain bike anymore. my parents rules not mine. so i spent [$] on this helmet and im doing dirt jumps in my friends yard witch are only five feet or so and i took a lite fall and my bell faction helmet split into 5 peices literaly.and the helmets plastic cut my head. the gashes werent that deep. but herei am looking for a new helmet after 4 days. dont by this thing youll probly end up like me.

        Plan to use as basic safety equipment. Also required by law here.

        A solid helmet that looks like it might protect you in a fall. No frills or color schemes. No rear adjustments. Got it for half off.

        Does not have a lot of airflow. A bit on the warm side. Adequate for me. Quite pleasant with damp hair (like after a haircut).

        Reasonable budget lid, it's well made and seems very solid, but it's heavy and doesn't breathe really well. The Faction comes with a lot of extra pads to help tailor the fit, but if you're like me and have a bigger melon, the Large may be a bit on the tight side.

          My head is difficult to fit for helmets - long and narrow - yet this feels good, and comes with three sets of different thickness foam pads, so I am good for any season also with a Buff (like a bandanna) underneath. I have worn helmets for skydiving, motorbiking, cycling - nearly forty years... this one is solid - can't think how it could really be any better.

            I have used this style helmet for about 4 years and I am very happy with it. It has a lot of space for decals so it is easily personalized. Recently I was looking for a helmet for my 5 year old grandson. He did not fit the child helmets but the medium Faction with pads worked perfectly. I like the look of this helmet and I can also use it when I rollerblade. Great product and very sturdy.

              My 3.5 year old has a big head (21.5"). I had trouble finding a quality, good fitting helmet. Bell has this helmet for kids - called the FRACTION. However, they only sell it in XS and S. The Small only went to 22" (no room for growth after this summer). I found this helmet, the FACTION, in a Medium (21.25" - 23"). Bell provides 2 sets of foam inserts for the helmet. When I added the 'larger' foam inserts - the helmet fit my son perfectly. A huge plus is that as he gets older - I can swap back in the 'thinner' foam inserts. I see him using this helmet for a number of summers. Great purchase.
