Comments about Mad Rock Phoenix Rock Shoes:
I don't know what those other guys are talkiing about. I have been climbing for 11 years and believe me, I have gone through a TON of shoes. These may not be very tough, but they perform well as an all around shoe. Really, they are the best shoe for your money. They perform well in wet condtions and will stick to anything. These are great shoes!

Comments about Mad Rock Phoenix Rock Shoes:
These shoes take some time to break in. They are good shoes, but when you first start with them, the sole feels like a sneaker sole. These will take much longer than a week to break in. Actually, it will take something a long the lines of 3 weeks 2-3 times a week for 2 hours worth of climbing to break in. Afterward, the shoe grips about as good as any shoe. Though I do have to note, that it's not necessarily the best smearing shoe around.
The shoe itself is uncomfortable. I wore these with socks. I wore these without socks. Both of which does not help the fact that this shoe is uncomfortable. This shoe also does not breathe at all. When your feet get sweaty, it's not uncommon to hear a, "farting," sound when you step down again.
While the heel is very nice, it does not stick to your foot all that well. The heel will pop off occasionally.

I got these shoes and they felt good in the store when I tried them on. However, when I was at the gym, or climbing outside, they were extremely uncomfortable. the back would dig into my upper heel, and my toes would always get cramped even though I had plenty of toe room.

Comments about Mad Rock Phoenix Rock Shoes:
I've had these shoes for about a month and haven't really had any complaints so far. Yes the edge has worn a bit but nothing unbearable. Good for smearing but I just don't really see them holding up much longer on granite without having to be resoled or replaced. Not bad for a beginner looking to keep it on a budget. Oh and don't buy online, go to the store to make sure thet fit correctly.

Comments about Mad Rock Phoenix Rock Shoes:
Great shoe for sport climbers. I have had these shoes for a few years now and the still give very reliable grip. They are good on the rock, but not comfortable to walk around in. As soon as I finish a run I pull them off. Can't beat the performance for the price.

Comments about Mad Rock Phoenix Rock Shoes:
These are good shoes for what you pay. They are not as aggressive as other more expensive shoes but they are good for most climbers. If you are getting started or climbe every once in a while these are the shoes for you. If you are climbing tough routes and need an aggressively shaped toe and top of the line performance get more expensive shoes.

Comments about Mad Rock Phoenix Rock Shoes:
they are awesome first shoes. You don't spend too much and get the chance to use them properly untill you get serious about climbing. Just on time to upgrade your shoes! The real good thing is they work great outdoors even for very technical climbs. Not good for bouldering at the gym, but that's not an issue.

Was excited to get new shoes but when i used them i couldn't get grip on edges, chips, and couldn't smear at all. The heel seems solid, but slips off easily.

Comments about Mad Rock Phoenix Rock Shoes:
A couple friends tipped me off to climbing and the day after my first climb I was hooked and went to buy my own gear. I bought a pair of these because at the time, they were what I needed in terms of comfort and functionality. These are decent shoes. They aren't amazing once you've been climbing for a while, but if you're starting out or you don't climb very often, they're a great shoe to have.
I bought mine relatively true to size on day one, and they haven't broken in TOO much. They fit relatively nicely, even nearly a year later. The toe could be a bit sharper, but for an all around shoe they stick well and they get the job done.
I find myself looking for something a bit more technical now that I've moved from those V0 and 5.7 climbs into the V3/4 and 5.10b, but for a starting climber or someone with an off-again on-again schedule, this is a great shoe.

Comments about Mad Rock Phoenix Rock Shoes:
I tried on a lot of shoes, probably 20 models. Was hoping to find a good fit in a nice, sexy, and expensive model... but my feet are a bit flat and these are the only shoes I found that I can keep on for an extended period of time. Nice sticky rubber so long as you keep them clean.
