Saved My Bacon

I always carry these in my kit when I'm touring. I have saved the day for traveling companions on more than one occasion. A screw tore a whole in the tread of a rear tire. The tube was bulging a bit when I arrived on the scene. We put one of these kevlar reinforced patches on the inside of the tire, and you could hardly tell the tire carcass was damaged. He rode two more days on a loaded bike without issue.

It can get you home

A Park tire boot can get you home when your tire gets trashed. I always carry some in my saddle bag along with my patch kit, etc. I've rescued several friends with them and now they carry them, too.

Tear/Patch/Ride - saved his ride!

Used one, not on my tire but a fellow riders. Sidewall tear on rear tire. Patched and looks like it is going to stay there for the remaining life of tire.

Works Great!

A thad thicker and stronger than folding a bill (I rarely carry cash with me). Had a nail that went in and out through the sidewalls of my GP5000. I was able to cut the tire boot to the size I needed and placed it behind the two gashes. Works great! It kept the tube from bulging out from the two cuts I had when pumped up to 90psi. I'm still riding with the boot inside my tire since I'm too cheap to replace the tire.

Example: Makes Hiking Even Easier!

It's a tire boot. Probably overkill but its going to be in my kit. I had a bad day on the trail and this would have gotten me down the mountain with much less stress.

Das Boot

A must have for your bike bag. This will get you home if you get a cut in your tire. As (bad) luck would have it, I ran over something today and got a nice slash in the sidewall of my rear tire. I slapped on the tire boot and rode home 20 miles with no problems. These have never failed me. They work much better than a folded dollar bill, especially for larger cuts.

Great idea for addressing the inevitable.

These work really well. They are light and easy to carry. In a pinch, a couple of these will get you back home if you hit something big. Every cyclist should carry these in their kit.

Just got some and haven't used them ...

... and I hope I never have to. But they're small and easy to carry and bring great peace of mind. There have been a few instances in the past where I needed to mend the tire and these would have been perfect. I kept two and gave one to a friend, since cyclists are always swapping gear. It's not a permanent tire repair but should allow you to make it to the nearest bike shop to get a new replacement tire. The alternative might be walking your bike home from the middle of nowhere.

There are flats and their are flats

Sometimes a flat can be more than a puncture. Running over small rocks and leave a rip on the tire, and a new tube can't fix the problem. These boots and be place inside the tire itself and cover the ripped area. And you ride until you have a chance to replace the tire.
