Comments about REI Travel Down Pillow:
This is a great pillow for the price, packability, and durability, However, the pillow does not have much support. That is why I only use it for extra loft in the head section of my sleeping bag. I went with the medium size thermarest pillow instead after purchasing this pillow, because I wanted a pillow that would provide support, just like my pillow at home.

Comments about REI Travel Down Pillow:
Pillows are a personal thing. What feels right for one person might not feel right for another. I actually needed two of these REI Travel Down pillows to get the right amount of pillow height for a good sleep. Interestingly, two of these Travel Down pillows have about the same amount of loft as the REI Base Camp pillow. The Base Camp costs half as much as Travel Down pillow. I recommend you purchase one of each (Travel Down and Base Camp) to see which pillow feels right for you. The Travel Down comes in a nice stuff sack. The Travel Down pillow, along with its stuff sack, weighs about 8 oz on my scale.

This pillow was great for about a month but now it has gone wafer flat and it stays back when i go out.

Comments about REI Travel Down Pillow:
I use this pillow while backpacking and traveling. It is lightweight, compact, and soft. The only thing that bothers me is that it isn't firm (or dense) at all, even when folded in half.

Comments about REI Travel Down Pillow:
I wanted a lightweight pillow for hiking/camping and this seemed to fit the bill. It packs easily into its tiny stuff sack, but is something this packable going to support the weight of your whole head? Nope! It flattens to nothing. Sending mine back for an air pillow.

Comments about REI Travel Down Pillow:
Great pillow for backpacking, sleep becomes such a necessity after long days hiking, and nothing helps close the deal with the sandman like a comfy pillow. A lot of people use a pile of clothes or nothing at all, but for how little this weighs and how little room it takes up, it becomes a much desired comfort. Goose down does loose most of its insulating properties when its wet though so be sure and keep it dry. The covering material and the stuff sack are both quick drying though.

Comments about REI Travel Down Pillow:
This pillow does exactly what it was designed to do -- add a little bit of comfort when sleeping in the wild! I love this pillow. I followed another reviewer's advice and got the base camp pillow and use them both. I use two or three full-size pillows at home, so I never expect to get as much comfort in the tent, but with these two pillows, I get pretty close.
It is extremely compact and lightweight in its stuff sack. I've used it many times as it's still as good as new. I would have given it a five star rating but I can't figure out if it is machine washable.

Comments about REI Travel Down Pillow:
I have used the REI pillow from the jungles of Panama to a car camping trip in West Virginia. I usually find myself using it in conjunction with an inflatable neck travel pillow because the pillow itself is like sleeping on a piece of paper.
Upon returning home and after spending the last seven days sleeping with this pillow...I have had enough. It has no pile, it is not puffy, even folded it is like sleeping on a folded t shirt. Not a good pillow, I would look somewhere else. I am in the market for another pillow
I guess it was minimally warm, but got sticky at night.
