Comments about Under Armour ColdGear Hood:
I've been looking everywhere for lightweight balaclavas that are NOT BLACK in color that I can stuff easily into my pocket when I'm skiing. I finally stumbled upon this new Under Armour hood, that you can find in different colors online! [...]. The design and cut and thickness of the fabric is devine. It looks very stylish on as far as balaclavas go. You can easily adjust it to your face. Unfortunately, I did have to return it. I have sensitive skin on my face and the material on the inside of the balaclava is too itchy for it. I'm a little frustrated because the outside fabric is nice and smooth and does not irritate my skin. The inside fabric has tiny ridges on it. If only under armour had decided to make the inside as smooth as the outside, this would be perfect! All that being said, you may want to try it because it is so lightweight, stretchy with great cuts. Hope this helps.

Comments about Under Armour ColdGear Hood:
I've had few other of the major brand face masks for snowboarding, but didn't really like them. The cut-out nose slots were too sharp(and your nose got cold), the material retained moister and got wet when you breathed, they didn't fit as well as they should, etc. Well, the Under Armour hood solves *all* those problems. They best part is that keeps your face warm AND dry due to the "wicking" material. On a *really* cold day, you may need to wear a knit hat over or under it to really stay warm. Also, it isn't bulky, and is real easy to store in your pocket, unlike some of the other face masks. Lastly, this thing is NOT a neck gaiter. Don't be fooled by that claim. I dunno why they say that it works as one. Wear it as a hood, or don't wear it at all. I'd recommend this item to anyone that spends a lot of time outside in cold weather...esp snowboarders and skiiers.

Comments about Under Armour ColdGear Hood:
I use this for snowboarding when its too cold or the snow is coming down. I have been in a blizzard with this on and its amazing. My friends with exposed skin had wind burn and irritated skin but I was nice and toasty. Doubles for a little late night ninja training as well.

Comments about Under Armour ColdGear Hood:
Photo distorts the actual cut or shape of the item. One size perhaps fits all heads, but the neck length is short and form fitting rendering its use as a neck gaiter, for a taller person, questionable.

Comments about Under Armour ColdGear Hood:
Great stand alone for most cool/cold temps(only minor drawbacks: squishes nose a little, some times a little too warm over mouth/too cold without it over). Because of versatility/packability/light weight, it goes with me everywhere Fall-Spring. Also works brilliantly under helmets/stocking caps.
REI Performance Headliner (or other super light liner) is an ideal companion for even more versatility. Put the liner over Cold Gear Hood to provide a little more warmth when needed (I find this comfortable down to about 0F wind chill; cover nose/mouth with liner only to totally solve cramped nose/warm mouth issues; wear just the liner when temps get just a little too warm for the Cold Gear Hood.

Comments about Under Armour ColdGear Hood:
Decent hood. Fits fine. Keeps head warm in cold winter nights under a sleeping bag. Might need to wear additional head coverage in colder temps. Bit difficult to breath through the nose. Wish the neck material was longer. When worn fully, bottom neck is slightly exposed. Flamboyant logo branding on the forehead. Forgot to handwash, accidentally machine washed. Got little fuzzies inside hood but removed most without trouble.
Not bad, but will try other brands.

Comments about Under Armour ColdGear Hood:
I usually wear just a head sock when riding during the winter on our four wheeler with tracks. Air penatrates those so I tried this under it and it works perfectly. I was toasty warm all day in extremely cold and snowy conditions.
