The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Gerber Fast Draw Serrated Locking Knife:
An amazing knife with a razor sharp blade. Perfect for anything from spreading peanut butter at a campsite to cleaning a freshly caught fish. Fun to use, quick to get out. The sliding lock prevents accidental opening as well. Easy to close with 2 hands, difficult with one

Comments about Gerber Fast Draw Serrated Locking Knife:
You will end up sitting around playing with this knife because it is so much fun to open. Opens very fast and without much input, but it is safe at the sametime because it requires positive input to open. One time I was messing around with it and it kinda suprised me because there is a point at which it will spring open and I didn't think that I was at that point yet. I ended up dropping the knife on the ground because I didn't have control of it so be careful!

Comments about Gerber Fast Draw Serrated Locking Knife:
This is a great pocketknife. It isn't large and doesn't stick out when folded, has a smooth mechanism, and gets the job done. It's ligtweight and easy to bring into action from your pocket in two simple motions. When ordered, the blade is sharp enough to slice cardboard; afterwards, it loses that consistancy and must be sharpened. The serrated edge remains sharp and good for sawwing, but the points eventually wear out. It can be easily opened and closed with one hand. Once, the knife jammed, and it was stuck open. It did, however, fix itself in a few days. The knife I got had a loose handle, which was totally impossible to tighten. Even the REI store did not have a small enough 'star' screwdriver to tighten it. I lost it the next weekend when it fell out of my pocket, but I plan to buy a new one as soon as possible.

Comments about Gerber Fast Draw Serrated Locking Knife:
I bought this knife about a year ago for a long camping trip. Knowing that I usually loose knives in the woods, I didn't want to spend a lot on it. I was immensely satisfied with this knife from the moment I opened it. I have had to resharpen it a few times, but that is from the nature of its use. The belt clip has broken off recently though and it leaves me in a tough spot. All in all, a great knife.

Comments about Gerber Fast Draw Serrated Locking Knife:
I was in love with this knife from the moment I bought it. Until the F.A.S.T. quickdraw system broke. Now the blade dangles limply from the handle and doesn't lock in place in either the closed or open positions.
I'm taking it back to REI this minute and getting the more expensive version, hoping for better quality.

Comments about Gerber Fast Draw Serrated Locking Knife:
I owned one of these for about 5 years. Very happy with it. But YOU MUST DO THIS AT STORE, actually open knife after purchase. Check the child safety on/off switch which lets you open it. After it meets your satisfaction you have a knife I paid[$] at REI 5 years ago. Gerber just seems like their knifes leave the box either perfect forever or defective. After 5 years I always carry the knife in right pocket. The clip got caught on a desk and was ruined so I took it back for a repair. The would not repair it just gave me all my money back! So I now could spend $10 for the next step up in Gerber awesome knifes. But once again I got a bad one out of the box when I checked it at store. Just went back and exchanged. Having knife on right side always is like a extension of my arm. I love this knife. I call her Sweetness.

Comments about Gerber Fast Draw Serrated Locking Knife:
I got an REI Gift Certificate and I was long over due for a new knife.
After researching several knives and purchasing another Gerber and returning it I settled on this one based upon Price, Blade Quality, Ease of Use, Size and Weight.
NOTE TO REI: Unfortunately at an REI store you cannot hold the knives and try them from a display case. So this leads to buying, opening, trying and returning if it doesn't feel or work right for you. This is frustrating.
I really wanted to have a knife I could keep in my back pocket for day to day use and for recreation when on the road, out fishing and you never know but protection.
This knife has not let me down great for box opening, mis. cutting and has been especially great while fishing off the beach with rod in one hand and having to cut line with the other. Not having to use 2 hands to open a knife is important. One hand seems to always be holding something to be cut. Collapsing it I hold the button and push the knife closed with the back of the blade to my leg or use 2 hands.
I have larger hands and this knife feels and fits great.
This knife is subtle and discrete, it does not bother me in my back pocket. You don't feel it while sitting on it in the car, I've slept with it in my pocket many a time on the road and have been in out of many a bar and club with no hassels except once but it was a bouncer with an eagle eye. The blade is serrated on the inner blade and sharp on the end so some sawing can be done and cutting and carving is easy.
I've had the pocket clip loosen but nothing a quick Torx bit use can't tighten up. The clip is tight so the knife has never fallen out of my back pocket.
I haven't done it yet but I'm pretty sure the whole knife can be broken down with the same Torx bit and cleaned. I like self servicable items.
Sand or fine dirt can sometimes jam up the mechanism but quick maintenance and blow out will keep it functional.
I've encountered plenty of other friends' knives and find them a pain to open or close. I keep it to myself and not brag but this knife is far superior for quick access and use. I've never had a problem with having it stay open or stay closed.
I'd say best knife for it's price range as well.
So far remains sharp.

I absolutely love this knife. I carry it every day, every week, every month, every year. You won't find me without it. I use it from cutting tape, to slicing an apple. I think it is amazing. There is no better knife, unless you are a hunter!
Just be careful not to catch the clip on a seat belt or something, or it bends, and is nearly impossible to repair.
