Comments about Gerber Fast Draw Serrated Locking Knife:
An amazing knife with a razor sharp blade. Perfect for anything from spreading peanut butter at a campsite to cleaning a freshly caught fish. Fun to use, quick to get out. The sliding lock prevents accidental opening as well. Easy to close with 2 hands, difficult with one

Comments about Gerber Fast Draw Serrated Locking Knife:
I was in love with this knife from the moment I bought it. Until the F.A.S.T. quickdraw system broke. Now the blade dangles limply from the handle and doesn't lock in place in either the closed or open positions.
I'm taking it back to REI this minute and getting the more expensive version, hoping for better quality.

Comments about Gerber Fast Draw Serrated Locking Knife:
You will end up sitting around playing with this knife because it is so much fun to open. Opens very fast and without much input, but it is safe at the sametime because it requires positive input to open. One time I was messing around with it and it kinda suprised me because there is a point at which it will spring open and I didn't think that I was at that point yet. I ended up dropping the knife on the ground because I didn't have control of it so be careful!

Comments about Gerber Fast Draw Serrated Locking Knife:
This is for the Non serrated version. I initially loved this knife. I purchased it because i had used Gerbers paraframe knife in the past and loved it. The action is very smooth and always locks firmly into place. It is extremely to open and close single handed. Unfortunately the steel used in the blade seems to be of very poor quality. The knife does not hold an edge for more than a day or two worth of use before it needs to be sharpened. It also develops nicks easily in comparison to other blades in its price range. Very disappointing considering the quality usually present in gerbers knives. Not a good choice as a survival knife, i would not want to get stuck with this as my only blade.

Comments about Gerber Fast Draw Serrated Locking Knife:
The knife appears to be a great bargain but the Fast Draw mechanism does not work properly on the knife I bought. It locks into position and the only way to unlock it to close the knife is to wedge the button mechanism open with a key or something that is small and thin.

Comments about Gerber Fast Draw Serrated Locking Knife:
I've carried this knife in my right pocket every day for almost 5 years and its still going strong. One thing that makes this knife better than any I have owned is the orientation of the pocket clip. Its set up so when you pull it our of your pocket its ready to go. i.e. no spinning or twisting to orient the blade required. I sharpen it every couple months and take it completely apart to clean and oil maybe twice a year. Other than that I beat it up daily. Great knife very easy to open AND CLOSE with one hand. Wouldn't do anything without it.

Comments about Gerber Fast Draw Serrated Locking Knife:
A tough work knife is mandatory for my job and this doggie rides in my pocket every day. Easy to open and close with one hand. It's now dangerously dull as it's seen so much action. A good re-sharpen and it can begin it's 3rd life. Sweet.

So far over all this a good knife. But hard to close with one hand.
