This is a Specialized brand bottle with Novara graphics. Specialized makes the absolutely the best bottles: durable, excellent big and easy to drink valve, squeezable not like those cheesy HDPE bottles. Only downside of the Specialized 24oz bottle is that the old school "large" bottles used to be 28oz. But this is easier to handle.

I've always liked the design of bike bottles - much lighter than Nalgene "cloudy" or "clear" plastic variations, wide mouth takes ice cubes.

BUT in the past the plastic taste imparted to the water turned me off.

Also, the sport caps on older models weren't very comfortable and tended to leak.

Well, this latest design is taste-free, and has a great spout - seems like a hard rubber, softer than hard plastic, with a thin lip, easy to open with your mouth, but not so easy to open that it can open by accident.

I use mine at hard cardio classes - the flow of water is excellent.

The wide mouth cap screws on securely, but is a little fidgety/fussy in aligning the threads and getting the right tightness - if you aren't careful, you might overtighten or undertighten. The only downside to overtightening is getting the cap back off later.

Besides the gym, I plan on using the shorter version for a travel water bottle that is short enough to fit under a water fountain stream - the wide mouth will help prevent splashes.

Great product, great price.

Thanks to the other reviewer for identifying the manufacturer - although the insulated Novara bike bottles had the same manufacturer's i.d. as the Polar bottles. No matter, REI tends to source carefully to insure quality control.

I really dig these bottles. They are very durable, never leak, and leave my fluids tasting as they should. The lip has the perfect balance of rigidity and softness, so it always closes tight, is soft to the touch, and opens/closes via "the bite" nicely. This may sound odd, but I really appreciate the little inspirational words printed all around the bottle, "ride more", "ride every day", etc...if I place them somewhere I will see them, they can help motivate me to take that daily ride, even it is a shorty. Overall, I love the bottles and heartily recommend.
