Comments about Planet Bike HC Freddy Fender - 45mm:
If you are mechanically inclined the install and tweeking are easy. Have patience in order to align properly. I like it since it works well with my Blackburn cargo rack with no interference. Toe clips get in the way but only on very tight turns (do not pedal on tight turns and there is no problem)

I bought these for my wife's hybrid bike, and couldn't be happier. They were fairly easy to install, and once they're in place, you just forget about them and take them for granted.
I was so happy that I bought a pair of the narrower ones for my commuter/road bike.

Comments about Planet Bike HC Freddy Fender - 45mm:
These came stock on my road bike/commuter. Originally, I planned on taking them off, because I"m technically in the desert. But there is enough surface water and mud on my commute that I"m glad I've left them on. No more washing the bike after every other commute.
Weight wise, I think they're acceptable. Especially for a commuter where counting oz's/grams isn't a priority.
Installation was a snap. My bike has some serious clearance for cyclecross tires, so space wasn't an issue. My rack sits fractions of an inch above the rear. Perfect fit. I couldn't be happier.

I have these on a commuting road bike (27" tires) and had a crash such that the front fender rode back under itself. I took off the wheel, straightened the struts and the fender, and went off. The durability of this material/product is exceptional.
Other than that - they're inexpensive and kept me dry. What's not to like!?!

Comments about Planet Bike HC Freddy Fender - 45mm:
This was the second pair of FF's on my CoMotion touring bike. The first's broke a rear strut mount on the rear fender, the result of carrying the bike on a rear hitch mount. But I thought enough of the first fenders that I bought this second set.
I mounted these fenders on my bike in preparation for riding on the East Coast, in particular the C&O Canal, in Maryland. I wanted to keep water off my back and my seat pack and seat post shock absorber. The second to last day on the C&O started with rain and it continued for the whole 35 miles. Nothing was going to keep me dry, but I was spared the mud from the Canal. The front fender was modified by REI in that it was cut down to prevent the the toe overlap of the front fender. A plastic frame protector was afixed to the 3rd water bottle mounts to keep muck off the bottom of the frame.
Adjusting the fenders were somewhat of a chore as each strut had to be adjusted to keep the fender off the tire. I soon learned not to stand the bike/fender against a support as that would distort the fender, tho it eventually would readjust.
I did loose the front fender attachment so that it the fender dropped onto the front tire announcing my arrival far and wide. As a result I tightened all mounting points regularly.
One last observation: I was running 35mm tires. However, the clearance even with the 45 mm fenders was tight. I'd also like to see the front fender carried further over the top of the front wheel as spray was blown back from the top of the front wheel.

These fenders are the only ones that fit my Trek 7700 - trekking/hybrid bike. (29 wheels, but more rugged than road bike...)
Anyway I tried around four different types of fenders. The Trek has somewhat strange back fork...
These are fine fenders.
Only the front one was a little bit crooked,(probably individual problem) but I was able to adjust it. Hence one star down

i just had these installed on my new marin fairfax, and they look awesome. based on reviews of these fenders, i knew they would be great, but i looked at a few others just to make sure i wasn't missing out. i'm glad i settled on the freddies because these shiny black fenders look so much more streamlined than the matte silver or (gasp) chrome ones i checked out. they offer full mudslinging protection without taking away from the look of my bike.

Again! I bought 2 of this for my GT-I DRIVE SYSTEM. Because of the frame design, I had to modify the back fender slightly in upward position, shortened at about 12 inches and eliminate all 4 back supports and completely in air hanging position. it works to my surprize, although I get muds behind my shirt depending on my speed, surely! Image still everything when it looks good.
