I have been backpacking in the wilderness for almost ten years and go out every month throughout the year. So needless to say I have purchased dozens of different manufacturers dehydrated meals.
Mountain House is not only BY FAR consistently the best tasting brand, but their packaging is top notch as well.
The PRO series is worth the slight extra expense as it packs better, keeps better, is easier to cook and comes in VERY HANDY one person servings which most other meals do not.
With all of that said, the lasagna is my FAVORITE meal of all of Mountian House's offerings.
My only complaint is that the cheese sticks to your fork really well and is tough to wash off.
The overall flavor, quantity of meat, cheese, and pasta are all excellent.
Please note these meals are specially formulated for what your body needs in the backcountry after a long day of physical exertion. I do not recommend these meals for casual dining at home.

It's delicious. Unfortunately the cheese sticks to the spoon like cement. It took 5 minutes with a scrubby sponge back at home to get the cheese off. If you do get this, you will enjoy every bite. Just make sure it's the last thing you want to eat before you get home.

Very tasty backcountry meal. This is my favorite backcountry meal. Plenty of meat and sauce. The cheese sticks to your spork! Please note these meals are specially formulated for high physical stress situations. Do not eat these meals at home, they are designed for on trail consumption to replenish what your body needs after a big calorie and electrolite burn.
I can't say enough about the Pro Pack series. They are the PERFECT size and the vacuum packaging really cuts down on the space required in your backpack yet still has the handy ziplock strip and same great taste.
I highly recommend these meals as best of breed (for taste, convenience, portioning, and consistency) for backcountry meals.

This is my go to meal on a trip. If I know I'm going to have a rough day (peak baggaing, long day with full pack, first day at high altitude). I plan this meal for dinner. It never fails to make me happy and FULL. I have read some of the reviews about tough clean-up and I've never had that problem. I eat it right our of the bag and just lick my spoon clean at the end.

The lasagna is tasty, but the cheese sticks to everything. It's nearly impossible to remove the cheese from your spoon.
When I need to eat and crash I don't want to have to boil up more water to try and get my spoon clean. The cheese stayed on my spoon for three days.
Skip this and get the spaghetti with meat sauce as it tastes nearly the same without the difficult cleanup.

It tastes good but the cheese coated our spoons and was harder to remove than Gorilla Glue. Eat it with a disposable spoon or on your last day because it will be on your utensils for the rest of the trip.

This was our second favorite meal of a 7-day backpack trip in which we tried most of the Mountain House flavors. Quantity was just right. General comments about Mountain House meals: After a few meals we started adding a bit more water than the instructions called for, and let the meals "sit" longer than the instructions said, and that improved the consistency. The meals started out very hot (it helped to have a bandana to use to insulate our hands from the hot package), and stayed warm almost to the end of the meals -- we were eating in temperatures in the mid 50's. We added a bit of olive oil to each meal, thinking that might improve the flavor and add calories.

This freeze dried meal is delicious! the meat is not the tenderest, but as it sat it got even better. this easily rivals the frozen lasagna bought at the grocery store- not quite up to par with moms lasagna. I'm about to buy a bunch of these just to keep around the house and a couple in the car.
