The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Drinking spout is difficult to use and clean. Mold grows quickly inside of drinking spout; can't even clean it all with bleach.

Great water bottle. Good capacity, nice size, doesn't leak. Will start to taste like plastic after a while, but no more so than any other plastic container. Easy to use top--just remember to make sure it's clean (the spout attracts dust).

I guess everyone is different. I've owned many of these and prefer Ultimate Directions to all comers. The kick valve is great and seals well when closed. And unlike regular cycling bottles - or the Camelback bottles, you get your water/drink FAST rather than having to suck hard during a race, etc. This is in part because of the clever valve and because you can readily squeeze the ergonomic bottle. Only negative is that they wear in time with the bottle seal deforming (but that time is measured in many scores of uses and dishwasher cycles - just keep it away from the heating element). Both sizes are useful. Good stuff.

This is a terrible design for a water bottle. The top is designed so poorly that it almost needs directions to inform you of how to get water out of the thing. Also, with its red coloring and shape, it most resembles a cow utter or baby bottle top. I personally do not want to run down the trail of crowded people drinking out of a baby bottle. It is also hard to clean since the top has about 5 different curved rubber parts. It leaks out of the lid, not out of the suprisingly water resistant rubber cap. If you think that this is a cool design, then more power to you. If you think this design resembles a baby bottle instead of a high performance running tool... then I agree. The picture shows the rubber in the down (no water is coming out of this thing) position. When it is extended (utter design) it is about 3 times as exposed.

This is the worst design for a water bottle nipple and lid. The lid leaks and drinking from the nozzle is overly difficult. The nipple doesn't leak, but lt requires way too much concentration. You have to bite, suck, and squeeze. It's a pain. Buy a Camelbak bottle and save yourself A LOT of hassle.

This dragon boat paddler loves the kicker valve on the Ultimate Direction bottle. I hated putting my wet from the Willamette neoprene gloves on the valve of my previous bottle when I needed water. (Disgusting, but there's no time to take off your gloves when your caller tells you to get a quick drink!) Now I grab the soft valve of this new bottle with my teeth and pop it up to get refreshed, hydrated, and ready to paddle on. It closes easily with no hands needed and it is durable enough to withstand the way I toss it down and sit ready for the next drill. Twenty-six ounces is a good size for an hour long practice.
Paddles up!

Good product. I use two big Ultimate Directions bottles at the gym, and a smaller one with a UD waist pack for trail running. I was pretty sad when my oldest bottle sprung a leak on me the other day right along the molded grip, but then I realized that is to be expected after squeezing the thing practically every [*]'day for a solid year! Maybe I can patch it...

I used to be a nalgene girl, but really, they aren't perfect. Don't get me wrong. They have their place, but this water bottle excels where the standard nalgene lacks. I love the valve. No unscrewing necessary. This makes it perfect for hiking, backpacking or running, if you aren't a fan of the hydration pack. And when it says it doesn't leak, its not kidding. I take it to class with me every day, throw it in my backpack and never have to worry about my textbooks getting wet.

Wow. It takes a fairly firm squeeze to get this bottle to release any water. Once it does, it's like drinking from a firehose. There's no sipping from this bottle. It also doesn't easily go back to it's normal shape after you squeeze a drink out. I like how light it is, though. It's also nice to be able to squeeze it smaller after all the water is out to save space in your pack.
