      Depending on what you are looking for, these can be a great addition to your early/late season hiking/mountaineering collection. As the name implies, the unzip panel provides great ventilation and the light design is nice when you don't need to combat January conditions. I've used these for a variety of activities and been pleased for the most part. The two annoyances that I've experienced are related to the fact that the design is not as fitted compared to say the OR Crocodiles. As a result, there tends to be a little extra material which causes the gaiters to slide down when moving fast and also makes snagging a crampon somewhat easy.

        Out of all my gaiters these get used the most. Not overly heavy. They have garnered a few crampon cuts (cut through them like butter) and the velcro comes unhitched sometimes in heavy activity or deep stuff, but overall good stuff for their lightweight nature.

        I'm not one to buy "gimicky" items, and I bought these on a whim, but I have loved them! Being able to roll open the top quarter half of these makes a huge difference for me. These gaiters will help keep your feet warm, but when you get to warm you can let a little heat escape. I don't even use low cut gaiters because I know I can just open these up. My only complaint is they are a little heavy, but as a result they are very tough and block out all of the elements. Makes your ankles feel bombproof.
