This kit was a blessing when one of the people in our group took a bad fall and got a lot of cuts and brush burns. It is a little heavy, but that's because it is very comprehensive with a good amount of most kinds of first aid supplies, not just one or two of each item.

Excellent back country kit for small group.

Contained most of the recommeded items for a Philmont Scout Ranch trek (7 people, 10 days of back country backpacking). It served well on that trek and on numerous other Boy Scout trips since.

Purchased an Adventure Medical Fundamentals kit for an emergency pack. I was impressed with the quality of the components. Most of the bandaging, ointments, cleansers are equivalent to the disposable stuff that comes in prepackaged sterile procedure kits at work (hospital). Which is all that you need in a basic first aid kit. A lot of the components in other prepackaged kits I looked at seemed lower quality.They have pretty good customer service as well. My kit happened to be missing the CPR face shield (the latest guidelines and evidence strongly favor compression only technique so you probably don't need it anyways, but still). I emailed them and they quickly mailed me a replacement.
