Comments about 3rd Eye Handlebar End Mirror:
This is a great mirror! Far better view than with helmet-mounted mirrors. Wide field of view, no vibration, easy to adjust, folds out of the way for trail riding. Sure, if you crash a lot, or like to just dump your bike on the ground, a bar-end mirror can break, and may not be a good choice for you. But with reasonable care, this product is very durable. I have one that has survived ten years through all sorts of riding, and I love it!

Comments about 3rd Eye Handlebar End Mirror:
As someone who wears glasses, I have never been able to adjust to helmet mounted mirrors. On my old MTB, I used the Mirrycle Mountain Bike mirror which was great! When I switched to a road bike, I considered the Mirrycle Road Bike mirror but I wasn't too thrilled with the mount which attached to the STI brake/shift lever and the potential for damage to that component from an impact. I tried several other mirror styles in vain and finally was happy with this model. It fits into the end of the drop bar, has a clear image with no distortion or vibration and holds its adjustment perfectly, although it didn't at first. The reason it now holds its position well is because I replaced the screw that passes through the rubber parts that fit into the handle bar end with a Phillips head screw.(you'll have to remove the screw that holds the mirror portion to do this). I snugged up the rubber core, then inserted it into the bar end and tightened it with a screwdriver. Then I reinstalled the mirror head. This provided a much more solid fit.

Comments about 3rd Eye Handlebar End Mirror:
I've used this for 2 years now, 1st on a low end MTB, and since May on my Novara Randonee (drop bars). The mirror works great for commuting. I can keep an eye on what's gaining on me. Another reviewer commented on the hinge pin getting loose. Mine fell out, but I noticed before the mirror dropped out. I replaced the pin with a machine screw and nylock nut, which I believe is what it should have had to begin with. I can tighten the screw the tension on the joint to make the mirror hold its position better. I haven't had any problems with the mirror mount staying fixed in the bar end. You have to "screw" it in to expand the foam plugs in the bar end. I like that it's large, it's glass, and fits in the bar end.

Comments about 3rd Eye Handlebar End Mirror:
This was one more disappointing bike mirror. The components seem very heavy-duty, and the image quality is excellent, but after less than a dozen rides the 2 pieces came apart while I was riding along a smooth road. This left the mirror portion on the ground, of course. The mechanism at the joint had failed, and couldn't be found.

Nice mirror when it stayed attached, but the rubber stoppers did not fit well with my Novara handlebar and it would come off.

Comments about 3rd Eye Handlebar End Mirror:
Installed easily in my MTB bar end after cutting away the rubber grip end cap but was a little floppy because the rubber stopper mount isn't very precise. It needs adjustment before every ride and it broke after 2 or 3 bike tip overs, not crashes, just tipping over. It's cheap and the view is nice, just not durable or too convenient.

Comments about 3rd Eye Handlebar End Mirror:
I commute on my bike everyday. Not far, but as far as this mirrors concerned that shouldn't matter.
The bike gets parked in a crowded bike rack, so bumps are to be expected. In retrospect, a bar end model might not be the right design for my need.
However, its been dropped and banged around. The mirror broke, but didn't fall out, so I can use it cracks and all.
Unfortunately, the hinge of the mirror has become loose, so the mirror is constantly falling out of adjustment. The hinge cannot be tightened, so this is a permanent situation.
I'm looking for another mirror, and will not recommnend this one.

Helmet mirrors don't work for me with my glasses, but this has been a good alternative. Field of vision is excellent[...]

Comments about 3rd Eye Handlebar End Mirror:
Every time I've taken a spill or mountain bike is bumped over by the kids, the mirror has broken off at the hinge or bracket. It gets pretty expensive to replace @ [$] a pop, especially when there other mirrors more crash proof. The rubber bushings either do not grip the inside of the bars or try to squeeze out of the bars.

Comments about 3rd Eye Handlebar End Mirror:
I purchased this mirror because I wasn't satisfied with helmet-mounted or other too-small, plastic mirrors that scratched easily. This has a 3", slightly convex, glass mirror that provides excellent visibility. The double, knurled rubber rollers function as cams that constitute an extremely secure attachment method. I was concerned at first that the bar-end-mounted mirror would be a hazard, extending too far to the side, but this has not been the case.
Shortly after I bought the mirror, my bike (a 33 pound mountain bike) fell over with the mirror hitting the ground first. The mirror broke at the bracket, but by taking advantage of Third-Eye's $6 repair service, I was sent a new, replacement mirror for the one that had broken. I am very pleased with the service I've received from this small California company and have recommended this mirror to my friends.
