Comments about Yakima Boa Bike Mount:
The Boa holds both my mountain bikes (disk brakes are not a problem) and my road bikes with a secure, quick release style fork mount. The only disadvantage is that the small back wheel tray does not stabilize the bike as well as a full tray (like on the copperhead, viper, or sprocket)would, but at [$], can you really complain?

Comments about Yakima Boa Bike Mount:
If your roof is shorter don't even try this product. Our car is a 2000 Jetta. The rear wheel of my mtn bike(Specialized Epic Comp smaller frame) extend behind the rear cross bar after the front fork is locked in. The tiny 'cup' of this bike rack does nothing to stabilize the rear wheel no matter how hard I tightened the attachment. The 'cup' spun down, the rear wheels bounced on the roof (I retightend 3x in a 45 minute drive), the pedals spun and then scratched the paint off the roof. All the bouncing caused the FRONT towers to almost come unhooked from the roof. Not worth the savings.

Comments about Yakima Boa Bike Mount:
After buying and installing this on my car I realized that you can't lock the fork mount onto the rack without a bike on it so anyone can just unscrew it and take it. If you don't want it to disappear you have to remove it when you're not hauling your bike. I did find a way to lock the fork mount by buying a coupler lock at a trailer hitch store. The rear piece can easily be locked onto the bars with an accessory lock housing. With this extra purchase I like the bike mount because it's small, lightweight, fairly inexpensive (other than the extra coupler lock) and takes up little space on the rack. It holds the bike very well.

Comments about Yakima Boa Bike Mount:
Honestly, I can't think of any reason to buy any of Yakima's other fork mounts. This mount is The cheapest mount they make, works with disk brakes, has a lockable skewer, and is the easiest to install or remove. The split-tray design allows me to throw the roof racks on the car by myself in 20 seconds, and when they're not in use, they take up no more space in the closet than a pair of skis. Can't recommend them enough!

Comments about Yakima Boa Bike Mount:
If your vehicle has enough bar spread, and you want a fork mount, this is the easiest to use, and can be left on the crossbars when you take them off your car, unlike full tray mounts.

Comments about Yakima Boa Bike Mount:
These little mounts are great because when you use them on the Yakima round bars, you have lots of room for a variety of other mounts (surfboard, kayak, ladders/construction tools, cargo baskets, etc.) without having whole trays cluttering up your roof's usable space. They've held up well to being parked in very harsh sunlight (New Mexico, Arizona, California, Mexico, etc.) without any noticable reduction in their capabilities.
