Comments about Yakima FrontLoader Upright Bike Mount:
I needed a roof rack that was designed to be easy to install, safe, secure, and would allow me to keep all my bike's wheels on. This front loader is exactly what I was looking for in every way possible. Out of the box it fit the bars on my new VW Jetta and it fits the factory bars on our Jeep Commander. My bike with its road wheels fits perfectly. Also, my wife's Townie goes on and is very secure in the mounts. I have driven at highway speeds and have had absolutely no issues with either bike being held on tightly. I only wish the locks were part of the rack out of the box. Good thing is, however, the optional locks a breeze to install. Bikes on, bikes off and ready to ride. No messing around with taking the wheels off and putting them back on. I really like this rack!

Comments about Yakima FrontLoader Upright Bike Mount:
The version that I had was recalled for a product defect that it would not actually hold the bike. Don't even get me started on being notified (or not in this case) about the recall... My bike came out of the rack at 70 mph on the New Jersey Turnpike and, except for the rear plastic strap, would have become a lethal projectile. It damaged the car though the bike somehow was only minimally dinged up. 7 months later I am STILL fighting with Yakima over getting the repairs covered. Their customer service leaves much to be desired.
I have had car racks, on and off, for 20 years. Never lost a bike before. Just saying...

Comments about Yakima FrontLoader Upright Bike Mount:
Nice rack that easily fit my VW Touareg factory crossbar system. It does take a little effort placing the bikes up there and taking them down. I have old, clunky mountain bikes. I needed a three step ladder to assist (no biggie...). However, once they are up there those bikes did not move. It's nice to have the front wheel on them so once the bikes are down they are ready to ride. The rack is really solid and easy to use. Yakima did a great job in designing them. [...]

Comments about Yakima FrontLoader Upright Bike Mount:
This rack is great. I have a 2009 Subaru Impreza and this fits on the factory roof racks which is ecsactly what I was looking for. A lot of other racks need adapters to make fit which can really add to the price. It just takes about 2 to 3 minutes. and easy to take off when not in use. I just leave it on though. Loading the bike is even easier. My fastest time was about 30 seconds. I really like not having to take the front tire off so my bike is ready to go as soon as I get it down. Great easy to use product!

It's nice not to have to remove the front tire. It loads quick and easy. Fit's perfect on Toyota bed rail system using L2S Brackets and yakima crossbars.

Comments about Yakima FrontLoader Upright Bike Mount:
I've been using a pair of copperhead Yakima racks that require you take the front wheel off for years but it was hard to get the wheel adjusted correctly on my new bike so I decided to give FrontLoader a try. On a sedan it is super easy and fast to load a bike. Bike stays secure (make sure that the front hub is always tight or it might come loose). It takes maybe 2 minutes to remove or install the rack itself. It is so easy, in fact, that I install the rack only when I am carrying my bike.
Warning for SUVs: I am 6'2'' and I can't quite reach high enough to load a bike on a Subaru Forester which is pretty small for an SUV. I carry a step stool to assist in loading.

Comments about Yakima FrontLoader Upright Bike Mount:
I have a Ford Escape with factory racks. Got this so I would not have to worry about any additional parts and did not feel like removing wheel. Install was easy and the rack has been used for over a year. Here in AZ it stays on the top of my roof through the summer and is still holding up. With the heavier bikes I have the factory rack will not handle the weight of two so knowing I can transfer the rack to the new rounded system is a plus. The only thing I am bummed about is the locking cable is way to short to attach to my bike.

Comments about Yakima FrontLoader Upright Bike Mount:
These are very nice! I have been looking for bike mounts that would easily fit the factory crossbars on my 2002 Ford Escape and have finally found them. It took about 5 minutes to install each one (I bought two) and that included installation of the optional lock cores. It is easy to get the bikes in and out and the bikes are held securely when in the mounts. I also like the built in locking cable. Overall, I am very happy with the FrontLoader. Just a side note: I buy a lot of my gear from REI because [...] Great job REI!
