The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Energizer NiMH D Rechargeable Batteries - Package of 2:
I purchased several of these batteries last year in order to power a water pump, a radio, a tent heater and a flashlight that I take with me on camping trips. I was in need of rechargeable batteries to power these pieces of equipment so that I could avoid wasting money on one time use only alkaline batteries. Along with the batteries I also purchased the Energizer universal NiHM charger. After just a few uses I was extremely disappointed with the overall performance with these batteries as well as the charger itself. For starters, the batteries took a ridiculous 16 hours to charge completely. Once charged, these batteries powered my various pieces of equipment for only a fraction of the time when compared to the alkaline batteries I was previously using. My Sony CD player has a rated run time of 4 hours on cd play-back mode, however it lasted approximately 1.5 hours off of a set of fully charged Energizer NiHM 2,500 mAH D batteries. I later realized that I had blindly purchased D batteries that were greatly underpowered when compared to other rechargeable NiHM D batteries that are on the market today. In comparison, many of the AA rechargeable NiHM batteries on the market today are equal in power, if not more powerful than these much larger D cells. I also found out that these Energizer batteries are not actually D batteries at all, but are in fact C batteries wrapped with a D shell to make them larger. This explains why these batteries are so light weight and underpowered. For only a few dollars more per battery I was able to purchase 10,000 mAH D cells which last much longer in my portable electronics. Otherwise you will find your electronics dying often and recharging these batteries frequently. I highly recommend avoiding these batteries and investing a few dollars more in a higher quality charger and better batteries with a higher mAH rating. You will be glad that you did.
