Comments about Wigwam Cool-Lite Hiker Pro Crew Socks:
These socks held up great over a year of duty in Iraq, despite all types of laundering. They worked well in the heat and the cold. I wasn't carrying a load, but did a lot of walking. I would definitely recommend them for lasting, dependable wear.

Comments about Wigwam Cool-Lite Hiker Pro Crew Socks:
I took these socks to the Philippines two years ago. At that time, these socks were already 10 years old. They are absolutely indestructable! I chuck them into the wash every week and then into the dryer with no worries (as with wool). Now that they are approaching the 13 year mark, it is time to replace them. Over time, all socks lose their elasticity and nap over time, regardless as to the care taken in laundering and wear.
My primary use for these socks has been and will continue to be as a work sock and an occasionable hiking sock. They have taken a lot of abuse in my work books over the years.
I agree completely with the person who said these were not the best hiking sock for his needs. Ween hiking in difficult terrain, I must agree that wool wins hands down in its ability to remain "fluffy" and comfortable. All the synthetic socks I have seen are woven too tightly and as a result, lack this trait.
In summary, for the weekend enthusiast who enjoys a hike in their area, these win hands down. They are indestructable in the wash, comfortable and feel true to size.

Comments about Wigwam Cool-Lite Hiker Pro Crew Socks:
I've relied upon my ultimax Wigwam Hiker Crew socks for several ultra marathons in the heat of the summer and in the cold New England Winters. I never blistered once in these socks even after running through streams with several hours left in a run. I've also used these socks for running road marathons. These are the first type of socks that have held up for me in all these demanding environments without causing friction blisters.
Recommendation: Wash them then hang them up to dry inside out. They'll last longer and keep some of their fluff.

Comments about Wigwam Cool-Lite Hiker Pro Crew Socks:
I was not at all impressed with these socks. They offer little more padding than a pair of cotton socks, they did not breath nearly as well as I would have liked, and as for preventing blisters...I stopped mid hike and threw on a pair of liners. For the money, a few extra dollars for a pair of superwools is money well spent.

Comments about Wigwam Cool-Lite Hiker Pro Crew Socks:
These socks feel and fit great, even after a long day of hiking with a load. You never have to pull them up, yet they don't pinch at all. They wash and dry very well. I routinely have to pull dozens of cheetgrass stickers out of them, which has caused a few snags. But other than that, they have stood up extremely well to several years of hard use. I wish they came in different colors though.

Comments about Wigwam Cool-Lite Hiker Pro Crew Socks:
I tried these as an alternative to the thorlo light hiking socks which tend to cause itching, above the ankle, as the day wears on. These are really soft and comfortable all day long. I am definitely using these as an everyday sock and a replacement for my cotton crew socks. Can't comment on durability, only had one pair for a couple of months. But definitely buying more of these.

Comments about Wigwam Cool-Lite Hiker Pro Crew Socks:
Bought a few pairs to wear on an Alaskan cruise with a new pair of hikers. Wore these every day that we were in a port and put a good amount of time in walking everywhere we went. They kept my normally sweaty feet warm and dry. Very comfortable even after a long day of walking around the towns and parks. Never uncomfortable and appear to keep a good amount of fluff after washings, even when by hand. I'll be wearing these for everyday use now and buying some more!
