Comments about Reliance Aqua-Tainer - 7 Gallon:
This container holds plenty of water, whether it's for camping or in an emergency. The spout also hides away easily, since it can be screwed on in reverse, within the container.
Comments about Reliance Aqua-Tainer - 7 Gallon:
I used to use the flexible/collapsible water containers for car camping & roadtrips, but those would eventually develop tiny holes. After going through 3 of those, I got one of these & found it very worthwhile. I also fill it at purified water stations and use it at home for drinking water. It beats the [$] price for the refillable 5-gal water jugs that they charge.

Comments about Reliance Aqua-Tainer - 7 Gallon:
I bought five of these for a home emergency kit. The containers are made of thick plastic, unlike some others that I have seen. One important thing to note about the description which is misleading though is that you should not stack more than two of these together. I tried to stack three of them and the container on the bottom buckled (and they were stored in my basement, so wasn't due to excessive heat). Other than that, I've been happy with my purchase.

Comments about Reliance Aqua-Tainer - 7 Gallon:
USE TO STORE POTABLE WATER FOR HOME USE. CITY WATER SUPPLY IS LOW GRADE AND I MUST TOTE FILTERED WATER FROM MACHINE IN FRONT OF GROCERY STORE. THIS IS GREAT FOR THAT. A LITTLE HEAVY TO TOTE BECAUSE OF 7 GAL SIZE SO I JUST FILL TO 5 GALLONS. GOOD DESIGN, SPIGOT IS LEAKLESS, LARGE CAP SCREWS ON/OFF EASILY. I'VE OWNED FOR YEARS WITH NO PROBLEMS OR LEAKS. VERY DURABLE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Comments about Reliance Aqua-Tainer - 7 Gallon:
I bought this to serve three purposes.
1) Store extra water in my appt for emergencys
2) Store water at the campsite
3) Haul water out to my deck to water my plants.
This works pretty good for 1 and 2, but not really for three. Once it's full, you cant pour from it. It needs a second handle on the top/back to tip it. Also, when it is very full, the one handle on top seems to bow a bit, making it harder to carry. Loved the cap/spicket design. So I took this back and got the two handled, skinnier Reliance container. That one serves all three purposes and seems a bit more sturdy too.

Easy to fill, easy to use. Good design with tap stowed inside during transit.
Plenty of water for two people and a dog, for a long weekend.

Comments about Reliance Aqua-Tainer - 7 Gallon:
I purchased 8 of these about 5 years ago. They've been used exclusively for emergency water storage, stacked two high. In the last two years, 5 of them have failed, leaking water through the "reversible" valve and through the threaded joint where the reversible valve screws into the cap - 4 of 5 failures show cracks in the cap at this joint. Although the REI feature summary indicates they can be stacked, the Reliance website says they cannot be stacked when full ([@]). Reliance has not responded to my questions about their product, left several months ago. Unless Reliance has re-engineered their spout/cap joint, I don't recommend this unit.

Comments about Reliance Aqua-Tainer - 7 Gallon:
Disappointed in the quality of this product. I bout one of these for "hard times" like durin storms. I cleaned and filled it and set it aside. I checked on it a little later and found that the spigot leaks. I contacted customer service about obtaining a new one and they ignored my first email. I sent another a month later and got 2 responses. One from a customer service rep and another from a manager. [...] said they would send a new one since customer service was poor. I opted for the free one since they had ignored my initial requests. I gave them my info and still nothing came. I've sent a few more inquirys but have heard nothing. I do not recommend this to anyone simply based on customer service. I would have happily paid for a replacement had they simply responded when I first emailed. If you do purchase this product, be ready for leaks around the spigot.

Comments about Reliance Aqua-Tainer - 7 Gallon:
This water container is good and bad. The good: 1) High volume: 7 gallons is nice because you don't have to refill it very often. 2) Versions of this container come with water filters that fit into the spigot. This is useful for eliminating sediment in the water; however, they don't filter bacteria.
The Bad: 1) For transport, the spigot can screw into the cap so that the spigot is inside the container and in contact with your drinking water. One must be very careful to clean/sanitize the spigot because of this. 2) The spigot screws into the cap and, over time and use, the spigot will no longer be aligned straight up and down to allow good flow of water. In fact, my container now has a spigot that can only be screwed into the cap so the the spigot is upside down! This renders the spigot useless, in my opinion. 3) The plug for the air vent opens too easily causing spillage and introduction of contaminants during transport.
