          Mountain House has done it again with their Pasta Primavera! This meal is quite tasty! It takes the noodles a little longer than I'd like to cook all the way through, but it's *definitely* worth the wait!

            doesn't really have a lot of calories and you need the calories when you're hiking but it's my favorite out of all the freeze dried to this point. it's quick. looks a little funny once it's cooked but it tastes really good. i always pack it in with me.
            oh yeah, it says one package is good for two people, i suppose it is but i can go through one pack by myself.

                Says it serves two but after an 8 mile hike over rough terrain I'm am more than happy to eat the whole thing and i need the extra calories.
                Tastes great, yes a little thick but that doesn't bother me.

                  This dish was absolutely amazing! I 100% recommend it. I am a vegetarian as well. So quick and easy...do something else for the 10-15 minutes and voila! Goes well with the mashed potatoes or corn!

                  I am going to review all the freeze-dried meals I try, because I realize there are some that are winners and some are just awful, and it sucks to find that out in the middle of a long hike or backpacking trip.

                  The pasta primavera had a great cheesy and fresh-veggie flavor. The consistency was just thick enough. I really loved it and we gobbled it all up.

                  The only problem was that after 10 minutes of 'steeping', some of the noodles were still crunchy. i don't know if letting them sit longer would have helped - we were so hungry we didn't wait to find out. We did cook it at 5000' at below freezing temps, so no doubt that had something to do with it.
