Just because it's the cheapest doesn't mean it's not the best! The best part about this stuff is that you can use it to train your hands in so many different ways, unlike the spring things... Just don't lose the little instruction manual, or think that you can buy the hard stuff right away- medium is plenty solid!

I may be new to climbing but not new to working out and athletics. I got this and was so excited I pulled it out of its box immediately and started using it, while in a work meeting. Was great, used it for about an hour straight. Got home put it away and didn’t think of it again. Next morning I woke up to itchy hands and these small little blisters between my fingers. They were the cause of the itching. If I squeezed them clear liquid came out. I have never shown signs of being allergic to anything including silicone or latex. I was not actually sure what it was from until I showed a friend the item he messed with it and began to show the same signs within minutes. I wouldn’t get it if I were you.

This is good stuff, and has definitely improved my hand strength & injury resistance. I've given it to a few family members too, and they like it too. Also, it's kinda fun.

I noticed one of the reviews here mentioned an allergic reaction. I haven't had that, and I haven't heard of that happening to anyone else. Sometimes the green (hard) kind does make my hands a little green until I wash them, but I haven't had that problem with the blue (medium-hard) kind.

I think this product is great. I am sorry that the other reviewer had such a terrible allergic reaction to it, but neither me nor my friends have had any trouble with this putty.

Its incredibly versatile (as someone else mentioned) and works out the muscles in your hands, fingers, and forearms in different ways.

Great stuff... I guess being putty it has the potential to pick up dirt, but I've had mine for 4 months and it looks brand new.

Great hand strengthener, versatile, tons of workout options (more than just in the instruction book).

I'd go with the firmest putty. If you need to soften it, stick it in your pocket for a while. if you need to harden it, stick in the fridge for a while.

The product isn't that expensive, but make sure you get the right type of putty. There's many different ones for the same price, and they all range from their hardness and resilience. I chose the blue one, and it works fairly well. The extraordinary thing about the product is that if you squeeze hard and fast the putty seems hard to squeeze upon; but if you squeeze slowly, its easy to squeeze through. The box also has an exercise sheet with about 16 different types of training you can do, and you are free too make up your own training exercises. Pretty good product for the price and you get a nifty container to store the putty into, just don't get the putty dirty and on the floor..

The worst aspect is having green hands after use. You can always wash off the color with soap and warm water, but soap and warm water may not always be available; furthermore, washing might not be covenient when you're in a meeting, a class, a car on the freeway, or on your way to an important engagement. That given, use of this product is limited.

Very useful product. I keep one at work and find myself using it all day. I have had no ussues with irritation / rash nor with "green hands" as others mentioned. The medium/soft is great for finger training but I will be purchasing the medium/firm for whole hand training.

I go through stressballs fast. Call it the remnant of a hyperactive childhood, but my hands need to keep busy. This is by far the best hand workout i have tried (and i have tried many. The consistency is like Silly Putty; I only bought the heaviest version of this and it is actually very stiff. Once you warm it up it gets a bit more workable. I consider my grip to be pretty decent, and the heavy stuff really lets you know youre doing something. Something cool is that you can get positive (squeeze) and negative (spread your fingers) pressure.

Only bad thing is it can dye your hands green/blue when you first buy it. The color comes off easy enough, but, still... you will feel like a bit of a dork walking around with green hands.

tldr; I love this stuff, and highly recommend it.
