Comments about Easton Aluminum Tent Stake with Cord:
First stakes I have ever used that are light AND durable. Of course they will not take abuse but they are stronger than all but those that weigh many times more. They are smooth and slide out with less effort than most if not all of the competition. Mine have survived at least 50 tent setups in virtually all weather and soil conditions in areas ranging from the Sierras to the Alaska Range to Norway with no failures. Two have dents due to my own stupidity in pounding where pounding was obviously not appropriate.

Comments about Easton Aluminum Tent Stake with Cord:
I've bought over a dozen of these stakes for various tents and tarps and all were perfect, no failures. They are large enough to hold well in nearly any soil, and I've even driven them into cracks in rocks. I don't pound the hell out of them if something's in the way, so none of them have bent or broken. These are about twice as strong as mild steel so you would really have to work at it to damage one. The pull-out loop is very handy. In rocky areas I tie "rock loops" (small cords or 1/2" grosgrain ribbon about two feet long) in the stake loops of the tent, lay "rock loop" out, put one of these stakes through the end of the rock loop so the cord won't pull out from under the rocks, then pile large rocks on top of the rock loop and stake. In sand at the beach, I pile on driftwood. These are my preferred stake of all kinds I've ever used, including steel, other aluminum, X and Y cross-sections, wire types and titanium. They work great and easily beat out any small diameter wire type stake, though slightly heavier than some of them.

Comments about Easton Aluminum Tent Stake with Cord:
[...] I bought twenty of these and after extensive use, I've only had one head come off ever, and none of mine have ever bent. Way better than the flimsy stakes that normally come with a tent, where 50% of the stakes bend with two uses.

Comments about Easton Aluminum Tent Stake with Cord:
I've had these for about 6 years. I've camped all over the west and in Alaska with them. Love them. Would buy them again in a heartbeat.

Comments about Easton Aluminum Tent Stake with Cord:
I purchased 12 of these stakes because I felt I could improve on the safety of the stakes that came with my tent. Man, was I wrong. The nail heads on these stakes come off with the first use. Also, they have a propensity to bend when very little pressure is applied.

Comments about Easton Aluminum Tent Stake with Cord:
I purchased these to replace the flimsy stakes that came with my tent. The first time I went to use them, the head came off of one. At the time, I chalked it up to the fact that it was -13F. The second time I used them, it was 60F and another head came off. Although the heads can be reattached with epoxy, I don't trust them anymore. Have replaced with MSR Groundhogs.

Comments about Easton Aluminum Tent Stake with Cord:
Use:
secure freestanding tent
Conditions:
20-25 mph winds, 35 mph gusts- no problem
Soil: packed clay with rock in field, typical residential yard for testing repairs
Good:
Thin enough to get through rings
Loop on end useful for pulling pegs (use stick as handle)
Pegs go in securely and HOLD VERY WELL
Bad:
2 piece design: head glued to stake with small dab of epoxy
4 OF 8 had head pop off when pulling after first use.
Cannot hammer into ground without breaking/bending
Cannot kick to losen- will bend
Bend PERMANENTLY when hitting rock/kicked, break when bent back
Cannot be field repaired/ rigged if broken (need epoxy/ replacement)
Used 2 part epoxy to secure head back to stake body- repair held (not a field repair)
Overall: will never use these stakes again
Service and delivery comments:
