Really like the plus size should straps and waist belt. Seems to be made of good quality materials. Carried my load pretty comfortably to start with . However I had an issue on my first trip, approx. 18 miles over 2 days. The lower buckles on the shoulder straps would slowly slip, causing the waist belt to slip down past my hips and allowing most of the pack weight (about 30 lbs) to rest on my shoulders. Very annoying to have to readjust these multiple times. If I can find a way to fix this it would be an excellent pack for my upcoming 5-day trip to Isle Royale N.P. Otherwise not so sure.
Bought this pack for my husband for our upcoming first backpacking trip, because he is a big dude and the options for him were limited. As soon as he got this pack on, we were both so happy at the fit, the quality, the look, and just all the thought that went into this design. It was super nice being able to just buy a pack that actually fits, without having to worry about replacing the hip belt or shoulder pads. We haven't backpacked with it yet, but we have done some long day hikes with all our gear and it seems like a quality pack that will hold up well and we just could not be happier. Also love that it comes with a rain cover, the hip belt pockets are a very good size, and the brain is nice and roomy!
I am a large man. 5'11" about 320 lbs. Body shape is similar to a power lifter. I've been to all my local backpacking/camping stores looking for a pack that would fit. I tried on so many packs that I was getting worried that my dreams of backpacking wouldn't happen. Did a little research, found Gregory's plus size selection, ordered one. It was delivered today and holy smokes, what a great fit. Plenty of room. Extremely comfortable just walking around in my yard with random weight in the pack. Can't wait to get up into the mountains in a few weeks.
The shoulder straps and hip straps kept getting loose a total failed when you hiking the Appalachian trail (03/05/22-03/08/22) had to cut my trip short from 4 to 8 days. I couldn't continuing hiking with straps continuing getting loose it was just to dangerous.
This is a great pack for a guy with wider shoulders and that 38 to 39-in waist. It obviously can go for even bigger person but this one fit perfectly and felt comfortable on my shoulders and just overall as a pack. Very excited to get this one on the trail
Much more comfortable for larger guys. Looks to be of good quality. Will put it to the test with some long hikes this spring.
