Lovely, light jacket
I received this jacket as part of a promotion. I am 5'5" tall and weigh 120 pounds. My chest measurement is 34". I received a size Small jacket and it fit perfectly. The jacket is slightly fitted, but has some stretch. I could easily wear a long sleeve turtleneck underneath. What I liked most about the jacket is it is very light weight and extremely cozy and comfortable to wear. Since it is summer, I wore it to work where is is so cold I usually wear a thick fleece jacket. This jacket did not keep me as warm as my fleece jacket, It is a light jacket. The hood, chest and shoulders have a water and wind resistant material, the rest of the jacket and the whole inside is a soft, nubby, stretchy material. There are 3 good size pockets. The jacket is very light, but does not pick down enough for a bike ride, if you wanted to take it off. Would be nice for a run or hike, when it is cool. The hood is adjustable; there are no pit zips. I believe if you were caught in a light or quick rain shower, this jacket would keep you dry, but it is not a rain jacket.
Lightweight Perfect Hiking Hoodie
It was love at first sight for this hoodie. I couldn’t believe how light the package was when it arrived. This is going to be a must bring for future backpacking trips. The color also surprised me in the best way. The Fika - a burnt orange - is the perfect addition for Fall. This jacket fits me perfectly where I can where a long sleeve shirt underneath and still have room to move around. I ordered a Medium. I am on the bigger side of a medium, and it fit me perfectly. I was able to take this on a hike, and loved how breathable the fabric was. It provided some warmth without overheating. The three front pockets all fit my iPhone 14 Pro Max and keep it secure. I also love the thumb hole feature in the sleeve and the hood to protect against pesky bugs buzzing in my ear or for light rain. I also used this hoodie when I got stuck in a rain storm. I was impressed with how it kept me mostly dry, especially considering it isn’t designed to be a rain jacket. It did take a while for it to dry off, but didn’t hold a smell or anything despite having gotten that wet. Extremely happy with this hoodie/jacket hybrid. Looking forward to using it on an upcoming backpacking trip in NH where it will be a great mid layer. And this will make a great mid layer for winter hikes too or under a windbreaker.
Lightweight yet durable - the perfect combination
Took this jacket with me for a family camping excursion in central Wisconsin. We are early birds, and enjoy the cool morning hikes - this jacket was perfect for layering up. I would consider it a light midlayer. It seemed to let just the right amount of breeze through to keep sweat from building up. It is very lightweight and didn't take up much room in the backpack once it was time to shed layers. At one point on our hike I brushed up on a prickly bush which I thought for sure was going to rip the light wind resistant layer of the jacket...but it held...no tears! Material, while light, seems very high quality and durable. This jacket quickly became a favorite of my whole family - my spouse started borrowing it and my kiddo even used it as a blanket around the campfire!
Excellent lightweight active layer
I found this hoodie to be the perfect combination of lightweight and warm. I normally wear a M or L in Arcteryx, depending on whether or not I plan on wearing layers underneath. I wear a M in this as it’s not really meant for lots of layers underneath. It is fitted and hangs close to the body but is not restricting. I felt I could move my arms easily and did not need to readjust anything (no riding up). The sleeve length is great, I’ve found that most Arcteryx products are generous with sleeve length. The hood is also generous and easily adjusts. I appreciate that the tail of the hoodie drops a little lower to provide coverage if you’re bent over or squatting (I had to stop to tie my shoe on the trail and no drafts back there when I was squatted down). It is perfect for cool morning walks around the neighborhood with the dog. The material provides just enough warmth so that it’s the only outer layer you need when it’s around 60s. I did wear it trail running one morning and found the wind resistance on the upper panels to be pretty good. What’s nice is that the back does not have these panels so it feels breathable. I had to take it off once it warmed up over 70F as it became too hot for me to wear out in the sun. I feel like the best uses would be outdoor activities where you want a layer for warmth that is also super lightweight to carry when you decide to take it off - hiking, outdoor running, backpacking, walking around town for the day. The quality of the fabric appears very good, and the zippers work smoothly without catching or needing much force to move. Overall I’m very impressed with this hoodie as an outer layer. I think it’s real value comes in how lightweight it is to carry or stuff in a backpack when it isn’t needed. Great for shoulder seasons or I feel like it could even be used as a baselayer in winter. Absolutely would recommend.
Great Everyday layer
Ive worn this layer everyday this season resort skiing and ski touring. Its comfortable , breathes well , and protects from the elements. The Delta Hoody has been a great layering piece on colder days skiing the resort, worn over a baselayer and underneath an Atom and Sentinel shell, as well as a stand alone piece for touring on warmer days. When wearing with a backpack , The material used for the hood and front of the jacket protects from wind some moisture.
Not worth the money
Received this for xmas, and was disappointed greatly, especially for the price. The material was very thin, so thin it felt like it would bunch/become permanently wrinkled. the arm sleeves were way too long on me, and I(5'9") have quite long arms. lastly, the sewing was low quality, and it almost had a keyhole shaped hole on my left chest. I had to return it unfortunately.
Great light layer
I bought this as a mid layer for warmer winter hikes and it is perfect. They changed the material of the delta so it’s softer and stretchy. I tried a small (usual size in all jackets) and it was a bit too loose so I sized down to a xs and it fits perfect. Snug but not too tight and lots of give. I’m 5’3” 135pounds waist 24” bust 38” for reference
Great multipurpose lightweight technical fleece
A great lightweight fleece for many uses including chilly summer evenings in the city, as a mid layer when skiing and backpacking on the West Coast. I love this so much I’m going to buy another.
