I'm a tall, curvy girl and bought these in L and XL to see which fit I preferred. I went with the L. The compression is incredible, they're so comfortable, and very flattering. They genuinely feel like you're wearing gear, not leggings. They don't slide down, they stay put, and they kept my legs a perfect temperature. I bought two pairs in the pink and bought two more pairs in black for an upcoming backpacking trip across New Zealand. These are the kind of sturdy legging I would use for hiking and backpacking, and not just yoga. The pockets are large but don't stretch out. The hidden pocket is perfect for a key. I've found my holy grail legging!
I'm a devoted North Face/REI customer, and these tights are yet another success! Wanted a lighter weight, ankle length, more form-fitting alternative to my winter fleeces for trail and Nordic walking in the transition seasons; these were perfect for the high 30's to 60 degree period (and I can see them as base layer next winter, as well). They are form fitting, stay up but not constricting, super comfortable and breathable: warming for muscles in action and comfy enough to forget I am wearing them and just stay in them all day. Am 5'3", 115 - 120 lbs; the small fit perfectly right out of the package. (Haven't used the pockets, as have anorak on at those temps.)
These tights provide moderate compression without feeling too constrictive. They’re on the thicker side which is great for winter workouts, yet they are buttery soft. I do find NF leggings to run on the smaller side. I’m a solid XS in all their other style pants and other brand leggings but I have to always size up for NF tights.
Love the fabric of these leggings. They are thicker than cotton or lycra but not thick like hiking tights necessarily. These do not pick up my yellow lab's dog hair (YAY!) which is rare. I had almost quit buying black leggings because of the shed. That is a huge plus for me. I ordered my usual size Small and they aren't super stretchy so they are a little snug going around the hips and bum. Once on, they are comfortable and don't tend to roll at the waist like other lesser pairs that I have, which is another huge plus. I like the side pockets and there's a back pocket as well. The length is good for my 5'5 frame. My only con is the waist being not very stretchy for getting in and out of these. I have not worn them for hiking, so I can't speak to picking up trail detritus or snagging. The waist band tightness is the reason for 4/5 stars. Otherwise good.
One of my favorite pairs of tights - good for 35 degree weather and warmer IMO, these are great for running or relaxing. The pockets are very handy, and the tights are very flattering. Lots of tummy support for us older gals.
I bought these in black and that’s a new thing for me. With my cats and two Great Pyrenees, I have fur flying everywhere so black is a no go. I decided to try the black based on the reviews of how good these pants are. And I’m glad I did. I have a lint roller that works exceptionally well on these pants, which is important to me. The material is perfect for shedding fur. Next are the purple, those are gorgeous and my next pair. These pants have nice pockets on both outer legs and a pocket in back at the waist for a key, chapstick or card. Or all three. Side pockets hold my phone and anything else I need. The length is good, I’m 5’2” and most are too long on me. These are a wee bit long but considering how they’re supposed to fit the average height woman, I feel lucky these fit as well as they do. I’m happy with the length. I bought a XXL, and they are not tight on me. I could have gotten away with an XL, but the way I’m built, an apple shape, I don’t want too snug. I think these run true to size. The leg material changes in strategic areas along the leg, and keeps me warm when out walking in 35 degree weather. They’re great for cold. I can see me getting a few more of each color just to have around and I could live in these, pretty much have.
I loved the fit and very excitedly wore them for a day of outside rock climbing. 8 hours later they already had holes in the knees from regular climbing wear due to scraping the rock…very disappointed! Fabric is way to fragile for anything outdoors…my Walmart tights held up longer than that!
Sent Medium back for Large. I'm 5'5", 145#, waist 32, hips 39. The purple color is fun. They have a nice feel on, but find myself pulling them up quite a lot.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like these a lot more than I expected. I have used them primarily for winter running and they are very comfortable, warm but not too hot. Very breathable. The blue color is a nice change of pace from black but muted so I don't look like a smurf runner. There are plenty of pockets with the two side pockets and back pocket. If I had to change one thing, I would make pocket in back zippered
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are my go-to leggings for my weekend adventures and hikes. Super comfortable; stay in place; no bunching, twisting, etc. Comfort-wise, they are perfect for shoulder-season in Colorado where it is still cold in the early morning, but warms up a bit by the afternoon; breathable. Wash great! I am 5'5", 105 lbs; XS fits perfectly!
