I've had 2 pairs of these that I wore almost daily during the warmer months for 3 years. They are still in great shape. But, I'm not so I ordered a bigger size in 2 different colors from Amazon. Both were piling and had seams coming apart within 2-3 washes. Weird! But, I loved them so I tried buying again from REI instead thinking maybe Amazon's were seconds or something. NOPE!!! 2 pairs from REI are actually worse after 2-4 washings. Noticably thinner fabric compared to my original ones. I want to still love them as much as I have for years, but at $60 I can't buy new ones every week! $240 down the drain on 4 pairs of Aphrodites this summer.
I love these capris, perfect weight for FL activities. I’m very thin, material was not stressed. Worn once. I’m sad the stitching is coming out. Was the sewing machine failing the day made?!?
I really loved these pants until they began pilling rapidly and a lot. I only had washed them a couple times, and did not dry them in the dryer. They pilled between the legs, of course, but also everywhere else in these pants. Including by the pockets, the bum, the legs & by the drawstring of at the bottom of the legs. It is such av drag that the fabric integrity doesn’t hold up better. I think they’re like $60 new I bought them on sale at REI for $41 a pair!! You think for that kind of money for a pair of Capri pants north face would make sure it used A fabric that didn’t start peeling after two washes! I’m giving it a one star review which is sad because if they hadn’t done this, they get a five star because they were great and every other way. However, the pill was I was unable to wear them after three washes. I also bought a pair of black ones which Did the same thing. I’m gonna be taking them back for sure. I will not ever be buying them again unless north face updates them with them better fabric! I’ve never had any item of clothing do this to the extent and so very quickly! For that reason, I’m giving a one star rating where I would’ve given a five star rating if this had not happened.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unfortunately, these are awful. I have four pairs of them thinking they would be great travel/ casual work pants and occasional outdoor pants. First, they do NOT breathe. They were like wearing garbage bags around in hot weather. But more of a problem - they pilled like crazy! I've never had pants pill like this before. Now they are all so bad I can not even wear them as the pilled part feels like rough sandpaper and picks up lint. Awful.
I LOVE these capris! I bought the blue and they are a beautiful color! (My photo actually doesn’t do the color justice) They are so comfortable (stretchy fabric) and practical I plan to buy every color. Although they do wrinkle a bit I still consider them the perfect leightweight travel pant. They pack down very small, they dry fast and they are ideal for travel to warm climates where it may not be appropriate for women to wear shorts. I am a pretty solid size 10 and bought the size Medium. Buy them, You’ll love these capris!
I love these capris! They are the perfect length. I have shorter legs and find that capri pants are some times a little to long for me. These hit me just below mid calf. Like many others have said, I also love the pockets. They are big and I can fit cash, my phone or keys in the zipper pocket. I wear these hiking and they stay cool as you walk and the fabric withstands walking through thicker wood and sitting on rough surfaces. Additionally, I wore these multiple times a week to swim in a river (I lived in Egypt for a time and wasn't able to wear a western style swimsuit). They stayed in place, dried quickly and are still in excellent condition after so much wear!
These pants are simply amazing! I grabbed them off the rack spontaneously because I'm always on the lookout for a comfortable and flattering hiking/relaxing pant. Flattering being the hardest to find for my post pregnancy, mom of a toddler body!! I had little hope but decided to try these on and absolutely LOVED them!!! The large fit me perfectly and they look and feel amazing! I would say they fit true to size but I would go down if in between sizes. They are the most comfortable and flattering hiking, exercise (not yoga!!) pants ever. I bought a second pair (the blue) and have plans to get a third (the black).
I was initially disappointed to see that the fabric was a little different from the original version, but having tried them on I love them just as much. Really, these are better than the original which had a tiny cargo pocket on the left side which fit nothing. The zip pocket inside the regular right pocket on these is big enough the fit your iPhone+ as long as your case is not too bulky, which means dog walks etc have just gotten a lot easier. Very few women's pants have pockets that fit larger phones, so Aphrodite 2.0 capris and regular pants are back at the top of my rotation for home and travel.
I bought these pants to wear while hiking/camping this summer. Just after the first wear - fabric had MAJOR PILLING all over. It's probably been worn maybe a handful of times and washed on gentle cycle and air dried. The pants look horrible to the point that I am embarrassed to wear it - because it looks so worn and damaged. The fit is good especially if you're petite but I would NOT RECOMMEND IT!! Save your money and find something else with more durable fabric.
My biggest problem with buying hiking pants are that they rarely seem to be cut for girls with THIGHS. Funny, since if you hike a lot you will get bulkier thighs. The drawstring helps cinch over the curves for a nice fit, and the crotch isn't overly long, which I find happens in a lot of drawstring pants (not good for the chub-rub). The fabric is lightweight is great for warmer days. The pockets are nice and deep, and my phone, aka camera, was never in danger of slipping out. Add to it that they also have an inner zippered pocket that's just as large/deep as the main pocket. Stretchy, no pinching, and adjustable bungee ties at the bottom if you want to hike them up a bit. All awesome.
