Was looking for comfortable fitting hiking pants and was not liking the fit of all the zip up with a button style that fit like men’s and looked like men’s pants .. I asked the sales associate if she had any suggestions and she showed me these Aphrodite full length . At first I wasn’t sure about the seaming on the pants but when I tried them on I was in love ! The next week I hiked up Cascade/Porter in the Adirondack Park , they gave me no issues , I even swam in them after the hike down in upper cascade lake !! Will defiantly be getting more
I have loved and worn the Aphrodite 2.0 for many years, hiking, backpacking, out to dinner - it has been my go-to, all around favorite of all time pants. I wear them constantly. They were made of incredibly durable fabric; 72% nylon, 23% polyester, 5% elastane. Sadly, the fabric and quality have changed, pilling and snagging easily. The new fabric doesn't hold it shape at all. New fabric is 93% nylon, 7% elastane. Sizing - at 5' 3" , 120 lbs w/athletic build- the small, petite size fit perfectly. The size small are too long. The blue pants are 5 years old with heavy usage. The black pants are 4.5 months old and look terrible.
Let me start by saying that I have found that many hiking pants are not that flattering, when they are they are not usually that comfortable. These pants are amazing in many ways, incredibly flattering to your tush, super comfortable wide waist band that is not bulky, lightweight and fast drying, soft and stretchy for good mobility. I sized down a bit because I like how they fit but if you like looser go with your regular size. I am tall and these were a bit to short for me but with the elastic ankle I can wear them as capris for everyday use and as pants over my tall hiking boots for backpacking. The option for a longer inseam would be wonderful.
I love the fit of these. Unfortunately they snagged and had pulls and pilling after wearing for only one day. I had to return them. I'm disappointed that North Face doesn't use a better fabric on these because they are so comfortable.
I purchased several pairs of these pants because I loved the one pair I bought in 2019. That pair pilled where the fabric rubbed together after a few wears, but they are so comfortable. Unfortunately the new pairs have a thinner fabric and have begun to pill even just from crossing my legs after a third wear.
We hike often in the fall, and I need functional, comfortable pants with secure pockets to hold my phone and my trail map. And incredibly, I find those types of pants are hard to find. But these pants fit the bill perfectly. We hiked about four miles last Saturday; we trekked through rocks, creek beds, and to a waterfall. These pants performed beautifully. I had full range or motion, they dried very fast, and they have an awesome zipper pocket that perfectly stored my iPhone 7. I just cannot recommend them enough. In fact, I'm here to write this review and purchase them in another color. (For size reference, I a solid size 8 in jeans, and the medium fits me wonderfully).
I bought these pants for a 4 week trip including outdoor and in-town activities. They were very comfortable, flattering and quick drying. I didn't think I would like the drawstring waist, but was pleased to discover that it made for quick and easy bathroom stops. The pants were too long for me. The legs bunched up too much around my ankles so I just folded the hems up twice, hand stitched, and they now fall smoothly at the right length. The cinch straps at the bottom of the legs lay flat so I didn't have to remove them before hemming. I'm 5'5", size 14, and the size large fits perfectly.
Have had these awhile and they're now trail and BWCA tested . . . Pros: These dry crazy fast, they're great for trips where you're in and out of the water. They're also lightweight and cool for hot weather. Love the fit (I'm tall and they're still long enough to keep mosquitoes off my ankles) and the option to have the bottoms straight leg or cinched tight. Super comfortable, great for hiking and sleeping in. Cons: SNAGS! Can't believe they bother to advertise that the weave is snag resistant, immediately started snagging. I have the tan color and frankly they're a bit too see-through in the rear. Also they stain with hard use. They're wearing pretty hard in the seat (getting pilly) as well, but so far no tears.
Bought these pants for hiking. I haven't hiked in them yet but I have worn them walking and just running errands and they are so super comfortable. They are lightweight but also warm. They don't restrict your movement at all and seem to be made well. I've already washed them twice and they washed beautifully. I'm going to buy several more pairs. Wish they had some more colors! Oh, I'm 5'5" and I usually wear a size 14. I bought the XL and they fit a little loose but I think the L would be too small. They are a little long for flip flops but they work great with my hiking shoes.
I’m 5’2 and even though the strings that the bottom helps to deal with the extra length, I hate the excess flap it creates at the ankle. Wish there was a petite version but willing to deal with that because everything else is so great. The material is so soft and I’ve taken them on some rough day hikes (skating down rocks/mud etc) with no show of wear. Debating whether I should take it to the tailors to adjust the length cause I really like how they look and fit on me. The string on the ankles also doesn’t have a clip tightener thing, so I made some bows to tighten it but need those to find some clips for them.
