Rated5out of5byphattiusmaxfromGen 2 is just as good!I bought the 1st generation of the PureConnects to train for my first half marathon earlier this year. Ran ~250 miles in those (between training and the half) and they finally got worn out - thought about switching brands, but realized that was really stupid - the first pair I had were great! I'm training for another half and the 2nd generation is just as good. The lace loops are different (more of a slanted angle then straight vertical lace-up), which was initially a bit of a bummer because I lace my shoes in a certain way to prevent heel rub. However, the new shoes actually seem to prevent this pretty well without the fancy lacing. I ran a couple of 4-5 mile training runs and a 10K this past week, all without issue - have actually shaved 20-30 secs off my pace (probably a lot from being better soles than the worn old pair, but also these are just incredibly light). I normally wear a 6.5-7. I wore a size 7 in the old pair and wear the same size in the new ones. Love the Tendershoot color as well!

Rated4out of5byJen723fromgood road-runningI really like these. Great for road running. Live up to the minimalist advertising.
Did run into some trouble breaking them in...got a blister on my heel, so it you're prone to that, maybe some moleskin or other blister prevention.
Otherwise, lightweight, breathable, fits my feet well. No complaints.

Rated1out of5byMMadsenfromTerrible SizingI have a pair of Brooks Pure Connect shoes that I purchased a year and a half ago. I ordered the exact same size of the newer model and my feet couldn't even fully stretch out in them. Both pairs are a size 10, but the new ones felt more like a generous 8.5. This seems extreme, so I'm not sure if it is a incorrectly labeled pair or if they are all like this. Regardless, I now have to go into a store and hope they have some in stock.

Rated5out of5byJessica the sometimes runnerfromGreat road running shoeGreat minimalist shoe! These running shoes are not only cute they are light weight and really comfy. I was told to transition into the shoes since they are minimalist however I really did not but I do only run 3-5 miles at a time. The shoes were comfortable on my first run and ever run since.

Rated1out of5byFitness for FunfromNot for Fitness ClassesI bought these for fitness classes and was totally disappointed. This was
my first purchase from REI and was definitely steered in the wrong direction.
These shoes may be great for running but I am not a runner. I returned

Rated5out of5byTravelbuggfromPerfect transition shoe to minimalistThis was my first pair of running shoes that were 'minimalist'. I used to run in the Asics 2170's, which I really liked. However, after running in these shoes, I don't believe I will be going back to 'traditional' running shoes again. They will take a little breaking in, w/ regard only to the different support provided vs. regular shoes. I ran a 5 mi. trail run first time out w/ no issues. These shoes feel like I'm walking on clouds w/ a bounce. I have been able to use them w/o my orthotics and have had no pain so far. They will of course force you to run more on your forefoot and ball of your foot, just like any minimalist shoe will. Overall I would highly recommend. More color options would be great. I am concerned that after about 50 miles the bottoms seem to be wearing more than regular shoes, but hopefully they keep up.

Rated2out of5bymduncfromNot impressedI tried this shoes for a bit and was overall very unhappy. At first I thought they were great but after extending my runs I found the strap around the mid section of the shoe to be very uncomfortable. I finally cut this strap out but still the sizing was quite a bit off. I had to go up a full size from my normal just to get my toes to stop jamming into the front of the shoe. Very different from the first model of the pure connects and I think the addition of the mid elastic strap was a bad move.
