Beautiful stove and ignites easily... at least twice. Threading failed on connector and could not get the hose to completely screw in all the way. Luckily, other campers are super duper nice in Yosemite, so I still had morning coffee!

We eat sparingly when we car camp, but I got fed up with food scorching on our Coleman because it would not adjust low enough to a simmer and wouldn't keep a steady flame(Returned the Coleman twice thinking it was an individual defect -- it isn't it's a product problem).
Used this on two camp-outs, but the Camp Chef does simmer and it does bring a water to boil very fast. After years of cooking with a Coleman, we have to readjust to a fire which cooks rapidly. Otherwise a cannister of fuel will be used up very rapidly. It does have twice the BTU that the Coleman does, but the biggest advantage to us is that it can be adjusted to a simmer.
The automatic fire starte is a plus -- no more looking for the matches.
It is heavier than a Coleman and longer, so it does not fit the standard picnic table width of public campgrounds, but must be slanted across the width.

I'm one of 10 guys who do an annual multi-day canoe camping trip. At the end of a 35 mile day the last thing we want to deal with is a fussy stove or multiple stoves. Most stoves aren't large enough or powerful enough to handle 2 large pots at the same time. This one is. It also boils a 14 cup coffee percolator in no time. My Cxxxxxx stove takes nearly 30 minutes! This one is simple and efficient to operate and it's easy to clean and maintain. It's larger than many stoves, but this is a fair trade off for the better functionality. When closed, it can be tucked efficiently among the rest of the gear in a loaded canoe. I found no sharp edges mentioned in other reviews. Looking forward to years of use.

Arrived in 2 days with no damage. The lower profile feet (compared to the Stansport stove) seem to make it less suseptible to damage during shipping.

We purchased this stove expressly for car camping. I was a little leery of the brand as I had never heard of it before but since the Camp Chef stoves got better ratings than Primus or Coleman, we decided to take the plunge. We've only used it on one trip so far, but it lit effortlessly and temperature control was good. Now, if it lasts for 20 years like my brother's old Primus, I'll be a happy camper!

We purchased 5 of these for the scout troop and they use them monthly on campouts.
The stoves are awesome out of the box for car camping, but over time the burner assemblies have been coming apart despite repeated attempts to tighten the screw after putting the stack of metal plates back together. They never quite work right after that. We have replaced two under REI's guarantee but now have two more with burners failing.
I rate them only as average because for the first year they are great, then the wear and tear of the scouts shows on them like any other stove. But they are used more than the average family camping equipment would be used since they are used at least once a month year round...

I have now used the Everest a few times on a couple different camping excursions. First, the stove is generally quite stable and sturdy, although when packing it back up, it's tricky to get the propane attachment arm to sit nicely inside without bouncing around too much. The unit has lit up using the built-in igniters every single time I've tried it to date. This unit does have some very strong burners and I had a hard time keeping the temperature at a relatively low level to avoid burning the food. However, that is a very common problem amongst most propane burners such as these. I could easily fit a 10" cast iron skillet and an 8" saute pan on the unit simultaneously without issue. I think I could probably get two 10" pans on there at the same time too. The stove does burn a fair bit of gas, but that may be as much a chef issue than a stove issue. I would personally recommend getting some heat diffusers to put underneath any non-cast iron pot as it helped immensely in distributing the heat. There are lots of those to choose from, but I got the Camp Chef ones, which are thinner aluminum (much lighter and easier to maneuver) and they work like champs (plus, they cool off SO much faster than cast iron ones when you're done cooking).
Overall, even with my limited experience, this stove has met all my expectations so far and has worked very well with 2-4 person camping trips.

This was a great product. The temp control was amazing- better than my gas stove at home! I was hesitant based on some other reviews that stated there were some sharp edges but mine did not have any sharp edges and I had no issues with cutting myself when cleaning it. I used the product while camping for a weekend with my girlfriend and it worked great in the cold temperatures we dealt with (in the 30's overnight and low 60's during daytime). I have had a small backpacking stove for years and have spent the past year + searching for a larger camping stove and am in love with this stove. Nothing to complain about and have been raving to friends and recommending this one to everyone!

I got this stove to replace an older Coleman that was too small to fit my larger skillet and griddle.
Unlike a previous reviewer I did not find the construction to be sub-standard. In fact construction is better than a Century I previously bought, returned, and reviewed (on this site). Construction is consistant with Coleman and better lightweight car camping stoves. The lid fits fine, latches securely and is secure when erected as a wind block.
It is not the lightest or smallest stove in this class so be aware. It is 23.5 x 12.5 (including knobs)x 4.75 tall if you are trying to figure out where to store it. The regulator is a rigid one (similar to Coleman) that plugs into the mid point on the right side. Spares pats are available from Camp Chef's web site at a reasonable price (unlike some brands). I bought an extra regulator so I can make a flexible rubber hose version.
The stainless interior is very easy to keep clean, and burner control is very good. It goes from a very low simmer to raging inferno that will boil a kettle in a jiffy. I have NEVER used a camp stove of this type (and I've used a few) in this price range with such a range in burner capability. It is great in that regard.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars is the control knobs could have a little bit better tactile feel (like my mid 80s vintage Coleman) and I feel the grate should be stainless steel rather than chrome plated steel.
The first one I ordered had a defect in that the regulator would not screw into the stove. I returned it and REI promptly sent me another.
