Knog Frog Strobe Front Bike Lightis rated2.25out of5by4.
Rated2out of5byfromIt's true! It magically kills batteries!I thought it was the rain I have to ride through that was killing the batteries every two weeks. I feel strangely vindicated that everyone else agrees with me ... this cleverly designed, really appealing, terrific "I'm here, don't door me" flasher just magically kills batteries. All by itself. If Knog can fix this then they'll have a heckuva product, because it's GREAT other than the battery issue. You can pop it on a helmet - handlebar - to a backpack strap if you like. OBVIOUSLY, it's not going to illuminate pitch darkness by itself (note the size of the thing!) but that's not its job. We all probably know the pain of affixing the proprietary bracket to your handlebars only to lose the light - or never getting the bracket to stay in one place. No problem with this. But, again, wait for the next version, 'cause this particular one is just too maddening.

Rated1out of5byfromdrains batteriesThese lights are handy and easy to install and use. I have some older ones on one of my commuter bikes, and they have lasted several years and are still going strong, even though I've never changed the batteries in them. However, these Frogs are terrible. Somehow they drain the batteries even when off. I've confirmed this with different lights and several times when I was positive that I didn't leave the light on. But if I don't use the light for several weeks, I will find that the batteries are dead. Replacing the batteries is getting expensive, so I'm getting rid of these and will try something else. Truly disappointing.

Rated1out of5byfromShort lived lightHad it for 6 months, 5 of those it was in the box. This fall due to the short daylight, I put it on my road bike handle bars not a a headlight just a headsup for oncoming traffic. Switched it from one bike to another, 3 times and then did not ride for approx 2 weeks, left it on the bars and found the light on the ground the other day. The strap broke.......

Rated5out of5byfromExceeding my expectationsI recently decided to pick this up for a couple reasons. First, my morning commute is now in the dark (6am) and second, this puppy is on sale. I've been riding with just a tail light but with the dark mornings I wanted something so I will "stand out". I would not classify this as a "head light". The reviews who mention this having a weak beam are right...this isn't to see in the dark, it's to be seen. There are four flash modes, ample enough to get the attention of anyone on the road. The size is great too...can hardly tell its there. The battery life hasn't been an issue either. Knog makes stellar products and that's exactly what this is. If you need a reliable head light to see the trail spend the $$$ and get a NiteRider.
