Marmot ROM Jacket - Men'sis rated4.6667out of5by15.
Rated3out of5byIcewall44fromIts OK, but you could do better. Most gear from Marmot is great. So is this if your looking for a VERY light duty jacket. By that I mean nothing more than a strong breeze, and some lite drizzle. The underside of the arms, and some of the sleeve are made of a stretchy, lite weight material that wont stand up to much. It might be a good jacket to go jogging in, or to knock around the city, but leave this one at home if your going to the hills, or anywhere with any kind of potential for weather.
Its fine for some things, but not for most things.
I will most likely give this one away soon.

Rated5out of5byDavey BoyfromBest jacket I ownI wouldn't say this jacket is completely wind proof or extremely warm but it does it's job. For how comfortable, lightweight, and durable it is, I couldn't find a jacket I liked better.

Rated4out of5byMofo83fromGreat softshell, but doesn't last...I have had my ROM jacket for just about two years now, and I like it a lot. The windproofness and breathability are the most impressive features, and it also keeps me dry in light rains. I even wore it snowboarding twice, and it was perfect with a fleece layer underneath.
However, I'm slightly dissapointed with the jacket's durability. After two seasons of very light, casual use, it looks worn out. The fabric is starting to "fuzz up" here and there, and there are actually two holes in the front pockets. I can't imagine how beat up it would look if I wore it for more adventurous uses.
So, now that it's time to buy another softshell, I'm going to try something different, that is hopefully more durable. But, if you choose the ROM, you'll probably like it while it lasts!

Rated5out of5bydemijacfromNice JacketLove this jacket. I needed a packable jacket for both overseas travel and hiking in cold and windy spring/fall weather. Took it to Africa for six weeks. Pack-ability was great - just fold it up into the hood and stick it in your backpack or suitcase. Loved the convenience of the inside zipper pocket for my wallet & passport and the outside chest zipper pocket for my iPhone. The hood is very adjustable and works great in the wind and rain.
The jacket works great for backpacking. I was looking for a packable jacket to wear over a merino wool base layer to stay warm and dry in cold, windy and drizzly conditions. The jacket is perfect for that and gives me much more breath-ability while wearing a backpack than I was expecting. Just remember that it is not designed to be a rain jacket - it works well in light drizzle but you will be soaked in about 20 to 30 minutes in a downpour because it is not waterproof.
And finally, it looks great - goes well with jeans or shorts - and has a quality feel to it.
All in all, a very nice quality jacket and a great value.

Rated4out of5byMAerofromLove this jacket any time I'm movingThis jacket is awesome! The windstopper in the chest and back works really well, and I like the more breathable panels under the arms with stretchier material. The jacket is fine with arms fully extended over the head climbing.
My only complaint is that the hood seems smaller than advertised - not REALLY helmet compatible. You could unzip the jacket a bit and let the whole jacket rise up over the top of the helmet, but that's not really its intended use.
I use this jacket for running on really cold days, XC skiing on cold days, and hiking/climbing with a layering system.
