Rated5out of5byRichard SchafferfromPractical JacketThis jacket is warm, windproof and sheds light rain. It has a sleek appearance and no sticking out cords pockets etc to catch on things. The back is long enough to cover your fanny, a big plus when its cold or wet. It has a locker loop nice for any everyday garment.

I wear this jacket almost every day through the winter because it is stylish, light weight, warm, windproof and rain resistant.

Rated5out of5byPeter the dadfromWarm, stylingWas looking for a light jacket to wear to work and kids kids soccer games. This is perfect. Can fit a light polar fleece layer under when needed. Would not take backpacking, however would consider for spring skiing

Rated5out of5by3390fromExcellent light to midweight JacketI've been wearing it in temperatures ranging between the 30's and 40's. The jacket has been great in the wind and rain and has worked well in the 30 degree temps as long as I have layered it with a long sleeve shirt. I was out in the 20's a few times with no issues but I had a sweater underneath. The jacket has blocked wind gusts close to 25mph. I have long arms and the XL fit perfect.

Rated4out of5byPerry ClarkfromGood for high-activity eventsI bought this jacket as a replacement for a lost soft shell jacket. I sought wind- and water-resistance, good range of motion, breathability, and ability to wear comfortably under a rain jacket. The Gravity jacket by Marmot fit the bill, though not without room for improvement.
The jacket is tailored for a trim person, with little extra room available. Being only 5'8" on a good day, and of small-to-medium build (my "fighting weight" is about 150 lb), I ended up with a small, as a medium was a bit long through the torso and definitely long through the arms. (I wear a 15/32 dress shirt.) Worn over a well-fitting t-shirt or underlayer, the jacket fits like a glove, and allows for great range of motion. It's comfortable, cuts the wind well, and has proven to be reasonably water-repellent.
My chief concern regarding the jacket is the cut of the sleeves. They are relatively narrow, and if wearing a long-sleeved shirt, the sleeves tend to try to bunch up in the sleeves of the jacket, esp. if the sleeves are rolled up. I can comfortably wear a light fleece over a wool t-shirt under the jacket, but not a heavy fleece; there's too little room in the sleeves.
The jacket has a very nice look when on, and the construction is solid and of quality. Zippers pull smoothly and easily. Pockets are well placed. Lots of compliments received when wearing it.

Rated3out of5byHAROfromDisappointedHave owned several Marmot jackets and bought this soft shell based on that experience. The fit of this one was totally different. Very small/tight thru the chest and torso.
Returned to REI. Will continue looking for the right soft shell.

Rated5out of5byDenali_SSfromGreat All Round JacketThis is my 2nd Marmot jacket. I was impressed with the Marmot Approach jacket for mild weather and wanted something for cooler temperatures. I compared the Marmot Gravity to The North Face Apex jacket. I liked the fit and the looks of the Marmot better and with my experience with Marmot it was easy to decide.
