Comments about Coleman Camp Oven:
As others have noted, temperature control is a challenge. I've owned it for years, using it quite a bit when I first received it as a gift. It then sat in storage as my volunteer position in scouting changed from unit to district level. I pulled it out a few weeks ago and the temp gauge apparently no longer works--it was stuck at 300F when I know it was a lot hotter than that as I nearly burned the coffee cake I was cooking. Then again, it was done in half-the-time as I had kept adjusting the heat up trying to get that temp gauge to go above 300F. Guess I'm out of practice. And that's how you can cook wonders with this little oven--lots of practice.
Though quite compact when folded for transportation, IT IS BULKY WHEN SET-UP. I have to disconnect one side of the wind screen on my two burner coleman for it to fit properly.
The oven will hold up to an 8x8 pan. A fellow scouter has a 9 hole square muffin pan that fits perfectly in this oven. Wish I could find one those for use with this oven! Maybe I'll just cannibilize an old 12 hole pan with a pair of tin snips.
Anyway, this is a great accessory at scout functions where no open fires/charcoal (and thus no dutch ovens) are allowed. Another cooking toy with which to wow the scouts.

Comments about Coleman Camp Oven:
If you have a two burner stove and you want to have a few laughs when car camping, break out this puppy and make yourself some TV dinners, Tater Tots or frozen lasagna. I promise you the reaction from your neighbors or camp mates will almost be as good as when I brought Chinese take-out to a campground.
My buddy used his to make pizza from scratch in the middle of nowhere and we've made Poppin Fresh biscuits, cinnamon rolls and other frozen goodies when we decide to break out the ovens and have a few laughs baking.
They work pretty good although are hardly worry free or self cleaning but who wants a Viking range when you are camping!
FYI - If you need a pan for those Cinnabon buns, look no further than the throw away 10" X 10" aluminum baking pans in the supermarket.

Comments about Coleman Camp Oven:
It's very easy to burn food with this oven because the heat is focused in the center. The oven is single-wall construction, so is not insulated. I've used a butterfly oven that has insulated sides, a heat deflector and a heat tempered glass door so you can see what's cooking. It also achieves higher and more stable temperatures. I still sometimes use my Coleman when I need to pack light, but the butterfly bakes so much better.

Comments about Coleman Camp Oven:
We received this as a Christmas present. It is great to bake pizza, cinnamon rolls, biscuits, cornbread, etc. at camp or in RV. It does crowd into second burner space on stoves even though you only use one burner. Great to have a single burner stove just for this! I rotate food half way through to help with even browning and rising. We love this oven!!

Comments about Coleman Camp Oven:
I use this with my RV as it folds up really small to fit my limited storage space. I have yet to use it for actual cooking but use it for warming things like pies. It works great on top of a Coleman powerpack single burner stove thus freeing up the regular stove for the rest of the cooking. I originally bought the other Coleman oven REI sells but took it back and this one replaced it.

Comments about Coleman Camp Oven:
My wife and I got this unit to settle a car-camping argument. She hates baking potatoes by wrapping them in foil and tossing them in among the coals. Well, she does have a point; we did have some difficulty getting baked potatoes that were completely done and evenly cooked. So, after the third disagreement over baked potatoes, we settled the argument by settling on this. We are both glad we did.
We haven't had the problem with temperature control that others have reported. There is a thermometer on the front that seems to be pretty accurate, and the unit performs very well. We bake potatoes, cinnamon rolls (really great in the AM) corn on the cob, biscuits, and so on.
The unit folds up to about the size of a small pizza box, and it's easy to set up and take down. It is sturdy enough for our use; I figure it's good for three-to-five years of regular use. We wouldn't go car camping without it.

Comments about Coleman Camp Oven:
I bought this because it folds flat and packs easy, just so I could use it as a warming drawer. We cook complete meals when we camp and keeping pancakes and hashbrowns warm while cooking eggs and bacon was the goal. Worked great. Maintaining consistant temperature is a bit tricky, but with trial and error I was able to figure it out. My friend cooked a whole breakfast dish in it and it tasted great.

We use it to warm up prepared meals and leftovers the next day. It's difficult to maintain exact temperature so it may be a challenge to do a gourmet meal.

This is a great little oven to use with your campground stove. We used it quite a bit while camping and love to bake mini pizzas in it. It does take a little bit of trial and error until you can make the perfect gourmet meal, but it's worth the effort!
